    Dear Daiji Readers...
Mr. Salman Rushdie is a much bigger writer and won many international prizes. But we cannot glorify Mr. Rushdie because he has hurt a religion. He has been issued a FATWA also and his entry has been barred in Jaipur Lit-Fesitival due to our so-called secular politicians succumbing to appeasement politics. Even though Salman Rushdie is a great writer, muslims will never forget and forgive him. This is same with This Ananthamurthy. So why double standard.

Further, one of greatest Yoga Guru Mr. BKS Iyengar passed away. He was an Kannadiga, but our government and people doesnt remember him just because he is an HINDU. Therefore before writing all your comments just think about the sentiments of the Hindu people.

If Someone has insulted any god. God will punish him.

People who are celebrating someone's death are inhuman, culture less, manner less.
You dont know how to mourn a death, what morals do you have to talk about god. For you people god is just a word to create tension in the society. nothing else!!!!

I AM 100% sure, MANY OF THEM HAVE READ EVEN SINGLE PAGE OF ANANTHMURTHY BOOKS!!! just cos he made fun of one sect , politician and religion all r supporting him... I know how they treat their intellectuals like Taslima nasreen, Salman rushdie etc!

There were many attempts to destabilize hinduism in this country and promote foreign religions ever since country went into hands of feroze khan gandhy family. We have prevented all such moves and will continue to do so.

    For all SICKULARS :

Hurting Hindu's sentiments through his book is FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION...

Placing derogatory comments in Kerala college magazine against country's PM is FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION...

Spreading hatred against our PM in Social Medias by Bhatkal/Belgaum boys is FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION...

If all the above are considered FREEDOMS OF EXPRESSION, burning crackers when the person is dead is also FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION.

It is their time, their crackers, their money. What is your problem? Yesterday in Chickmangalur 5-6 people were arrested and they were released in the evening by bail. Arrest is just the tactics of this sickular govt to fool people. Have they done any crime by celebrating? If you think is celebration is hurting sentiments of people, the same is applicable when he hurt the people sentiments through his book.

    Next is AWARD....

In India, even a hunter gets Padma Award. Since a cricketer is loyal to a political party, a famous hockey player's name was removed from Bharatha Ratna's list and this loyalist was honoured Ratna.

URA was given Jnanapeetha award by high influence of HD Devegowda in 1994. For the same reason he was loyal to Devegowda family. Because he is a Jnanapeetha Awardee it does not mean we need to respect his views. Instead he should have been careful while passing such hatred comments.

In the last two days, people who paid last respect to departed soul are mostly politicians, cine actors. Many Kannada poets, thinkers, literature did not visit to pay last rites. Many had personal grudge against him.

    Are we justifying the crackers?
It speaks of us isn't it - celebrating the death of a Jnanapeeth Awardee? We are spreading this message:
our national award has no value - there by all those who received same award at any time are not worthy - further none of our national awards also may be not worthy?
Whole of India and internationally people can honor our distinguished as much as we honour them.

I do not justify 'hurting' of beliefs of any community, but constantly each of us keep hurting the other. Maintaining dignified silence is our way out or engaging in a debate to put forth our point.

But celebrating the death of a renowned personality - just because he thought OTHERWISE, speaks volumes for our LOWLINESS - this I feel. All the more reason for URs to rise and continue his crusade to make us greater citizens of India.

I find a real sense in your comment particularly "constantly hurting each other"...
You are right... We are constantly hurting each other.... But are we constanty consoling each other??? NEVER...
I was only mentioning UT Khader, who was not consoling Hindus when they were hurt by the statements of URA and his way of doing "abhisheka" to Hindu idols and religious stones and now came for consoling as if he is a big consoler...!!

By the way, winning a national award does not give the right to "rape" Hindu religion... or any other religion for that matter...
