Mumbai, Aug 18: Actress Rani Mukherjee who recently married her beau and head of Yash Raj Films - Aditya Chopra has made it public that her next film will not be under the home production house banner. The Censor board on the other hand has refused to let her movie Mardaani release with anything other than an A certificate. Even though her husband Aditya Chopra told the board that he felt that the movie could be viewed by a 12 year old, the board felt that the A certificate was more appropriate given the theme that it is based on.
Rani Mukherjee has stated that her next movie will not be under the home production banner. She went on to tell the media that she would prefer to stick to her craft of acting rather than venturing into direction or production. She expressed that she was more than happy with husband Aditya Chopra taking care of things behind the camera.
In Mardaani, She plays the role of Shivani Shivaji Roy, a police officer who goes after and exposes a flesh trading racket. She brings down a gang that operates to kidnap girls and sell them. Given the current scenario in the country the film is likely to hit a cord with its audiences.
Presently busy with her promotional tour for Mardaani, Rani Mukherjee recently visited the Ambaji temple in Gujrat right after Jhansi, even though a visit to the temple, incidentally, was not part of her schedule. Hopefully her prayers give her success at the box office with her film that is set to release on the 22nd of August.
