Mumbai, Aug 13 (IANS): Inspired by hand-strung Indian garlands, fashion brand Rouka By Sreejith Jeevans winter-festive collection, to be showcased at the forthcoming Lakme Fashion Week (LFW), will pay tribute to the craftsmanship of artisans who make garlands.
The collection follows the journey of flower to the garland, said a statement.
"The clothes articulate the art of stringing, with garland-like collars, strung together seams, threaded flower patterns and quirky detailing to dress the Indian women this festive winter, very much the Rouka way," the statement read further.
The designer, Jeevan, is a textile graduate from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad and the Ecole Nationale Superieure Des Arts Decoratifs, Paris. He works from his studio in Kochi.
His show will be held Aug 21 at the Palladium Hotel here during LFW.
