Brooke Shields to release make-up line

Los Angeles, Aug 9 (IANS): Model-turned-actress Brooke Shields has teamed up with bosses at Mac cosmetics to create her own make-up collection.

The “Blue Lagoon” star, 49, landed the project after a meeting with the firm's senior vice president and creative director James Gager, and now her range will be available with retailers in October, reports contactmusic.com.

Shields, who is famous for her styled brows, got involved in the research and development process to ensure the products, which include eyeshadows, lipsticks, nail polishes and mascaras, were something she would want to purchase for herself.

"I went through all of my make-up, opened it all up, looked at it all and started to decide what of each product I loved - whether it was from Mac or some obscure brand I got on a shoot in Japan.

“So many times you get asked to 'create' something, but it ends up being, 'Put your face on this'. I got to run with this, and I loved every detail of it,” she said.

Shields isn't the first celebrity to launch her own Mac range. Lady Gaga, Lorde, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna have all worked with the company on their own collections in recent years.
