Mumbai, Aug 26: The 12 Indian passengers of a Mumbai-bound Northwest Airlines flight, who were detained and later released in Amstredam following suspicious behaviour on a US airliner, arrived here early today.
The Northwest Airlines flight 'NW042' from Amsterdam, carrying the passengers, reached the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Terminal at 0215 am, delayed by 4 hours.
Immediately after arrival, one of the passengers said a "misunderstanding" on part of the airline created the two-day embroglio and they were treated well by the Dutch authorities.
"It was a misunderstanding on the part of the airline. We were treated well and want to forget it as a bad experience," Mohammad Iqbal Batliwala, one of the passengers told reporters on arrival at the city airport.
Batliwala refused to comment further saying he was tired.
Another passenger Shakeel Chotani said, "the misunderstanding has been sorted out." Meanwhile the remaining passengers refused to speak to the waiting media and were taken away by the relatives.
The passengers took more than one hour to come out of the terminal building after landing of their aircraft.
There was commotion outside the terminal building when the passengers were encircled by the waiting media to get their reactions.
