Chennai, Aug 8 (IANS): Actor-politician R. Sarath Kumar, who will be essaying a negative character in his upcoming Tamil actioner "Sandamarutham", says he's experimenting with the role as he wanted audiences to see him in a different avatar.
"I'm returning to films after a short gap because of politics. I didn't want to do a regular film and wanted to experiment. I play a double role in 'Sandamarutham' and one of it has a negative shade. I wanted audiences to see me differently," he told IANS.
The actor, who also plays a cop in the film, has penned the film's story too.
"Since I'm making a comeback of sorts, I wanted to be seen in a certain way. I penned the story keeping that in mind and it has come out well. The film will release in September," he said.
Directed by A. Venkatesh, the film also features Samuthirakani, Oviya and Meera Nandan in important roles.
