Daijiworld Media Network – Kasargod (EP)

Kasargod, Aug 6: In another shocking incident of sexual assault, three persons allegedly abducted a a young woman and gang-raped her, besides stabbing her when she resisted their attack.

The incident occurred at Sunnada Bayar near Paivalike on Tuesday August 5.

The 21-year-old girl was returning home from Bayar market. A group of three men who came by bike allegedly dragged the girl to a rubber plantation nearby and raped her. When the girl screamed and tried to escape, they reportedly stabbed her with a sharp weapon.

When the locals rushed to the spot on hearing her screams, the three men fled in their bikes. The locals have identified one of the accused as Zakaria and a search is on for the remaining two accused.

The locals took the injured girl to Kasargod hospital.

Police have registered a case against three persons including Bayar Muligadde resident Zakki alias Zakaria. As the news spread, angry locals gheraod the house of the accused, creating a tense atmoshphere. Police have taken measures to prevent untoward incidents in Bayar area.

Locals have said that Zakaria is an accused in several cases. Police are searching for the accused.

Human is becoming worse than animal, I say animals are much more better than human, we go to temple, masjid, church 2 to 5 times a day for prayer and doing very vile things cheating, stealing, murdering, raping these are the evil things are becoming habit to some of the people. Going to holy place is becoming just for fashion or by religious fanatic but not by devotion of God or God fear. If person who is keeping trust on God, he will think twice before doing any misdeed.
This type of people will bring bad name or unpopularity to the religion, so I feel that we need to spend more time for moral teachings than prayer in temple, masjid & church.

Mr. HASHIM. I am not sure what's wrong with you. Could you please complete 19 Agrees for my comment , not even 1 disagree. Because I always comment being a responsible citizen and always unbiased. You can check all my previous comments. It's the department has to take the blame, whether it's because of some political pressure or pressure due to money power, what ever is the reason. As they are not doing their job at all, the trust and confidence level is ped completely. All these crimes are evident. Unfortunately not even one single progress on this I could read till now. That's another evident for you. If the departments, whether it's law and order or Police, if they do their job right, we will be happy and proud to respect them. not at this juncture where people are searching where has the law and order gone in our city and state.

India may reach top spot economically, all the richest of the world may come from India, we may outsource to the world the best of IT Gurus, we may be the greatest democracy in the world...but if the attitude of men towards women don't change India would end up a living hell for women. No laws or military could change them for real change has to come from the heart. I am glad that you have found freedom. Shadow.

And here comes the communal brigade. Sir, I am suggesting the same thing what people are suggesting. Capital punishment for crimes like murder and rape. This seems to be only way to put a check for this alarming crime rate. That is Shariya Law, an eye for an eye. Can you suggest what else we can do? relay on our judiciary and Government to amend the law? But why would you care about any of this? definitely being a man has put you in a more secure position. No wonder even in times of such peril all you can think is Cast, Religion , Politics.
And for the people blaming BJP govt, can you please tell me what had Congress done when it was in power and Delhi rape happened? No one will come to our help and rescue. Best solution is teach your daughters self defence. along with putting them to Music, Dance classes, join them to a Self defence/Martial Arts class. Tell them IT IS OK TO YELL/SLAP A PERSON IN PUBLIC IF HE MISBEHAVES WITH YOU. Tell them there is no shame in telling the world what these guys are upto. May be to our luck some so called "men" will be MAN enough to come forward and take initiative.
The irony of all this is we women feel more secure in a foreign land than our own homeland. A really sad state for us.

I was forced to leave India for this very reason.

Every-time I traveled by bus, men would try to rub themselves against me. I have stamped their feet, yelled at them and people would just watch. I have had guys in college pass dirty comments as girls walked, like we were mere objects of sexual pleasure. I have had guys standing at the corner of the lanes, waiting a chance to touch the gals and run. I had to switch from local bus to college bus, I had to walk in groups to avoid the comments and eve tease, I had to park my two wheeler near the bus stand so that I could ride it back home safe to avoid the people in the lane. The police never helped whenever I complained. I was brought up in an open minded family that never differentiated genders. But the society always has treated women to be inferior somehow. I moved out of India to explore the so called western countries. And now I actually get to be free from perverts. There are guys here too who try to approach you, if you ignore they walk away. No one forces their desires, they know self control. I wish people were more open to the fact that every one contributes in making women inferior. Grow them up like humans and not based on their gender.

Really sad reading about these rapes, I feel it is only getting worse, earlier there was touching and eve tease and now they have taken a giant leap of rape. I cannot imagine what will be the future unless we find a way to stop this.

    God bless!

I agree with you in our college days it was a wolf whistle., a wink and if there was no response then we would be off for a drink.
Being in the lead I used to get complaints but all minor, we in college cared for our lady students and many a bus has been stopped in front if our gate to tackle a Eve teaser.
But now I am shocked to see the change in all fields.
When will the day dawn when there is no headline...Raped "

Well said Rachel.. most of it true!! However, you went to a safe european country and not everybody is as lucky as you....!! also, I feel it is escapist, but then it is right in your context.. things here would not change easily!!

Only way is to raise up ur kids, in a good manner.. teach them, "Girl" is not a commodity.. tell them values! never encourage them, when they r doing something wrong. Disown their acts no mater how close they are... educate them about sex and crimes! may be it wld take years, cos, people here are 'closed' mindset and sex starved!

a country which doesnt treat their women, soldiers and downtrodden with respect, HAS NEVER BEEN A PROSPEROUS!! economy may be strong, but never winner in culture matters...!

Good suggestion. Thats the bone of contention for everybody.... when you want divorce, polygamy, religious freedom and property settlement, claim "sharia" !! but when you commit a mistake you need punishment as per "IPC"..easy way out.... this is sad.

Else, bring in Uniform civil code..! nobody will give communal color to it... a crime will be treated as just a 'crime'..sans saffron/green!

It's mentioned "angry locals gheraod the house of the accused, creating a tense atmoshphere. Police have taken measures to prevent untoward incidents" why should police interfere. Let the locals take the call what should be done. When the crime happens police will be nowhere and when criminals are to be punished police is ready to safeguard. Wow... any ways, just curious to see how this criminal will be escaped from punishment ... who will back this evil and how the escape plan will be uted... nothing more will happen I am sure.
