Bantwal: Fearful potholes dot service roads – heap miseries in road users

Bantwal, Aug 6: Hundreds of large-sized potholes exist on the service roads within the town limits.  The road users, who were already finding it an arduous task to drive on this road because it is narrow and congested, are now forced to face further complications, which have been multiplied by heavy rains.

The drivers of vehicles are forced to put to practice all their skills and patience to maneuver their vehicles through small gaps they get between these giant pits. They are sure to face danger if they lose concentration even for a second.   As the vehicles are compelled to go dead slow on this road, traffic jams have become routine.

Last year, drivers of local auto rickshaws and cars, with the support of policemen, had filled pot holes by filling crushed laterite stones in them. During summer, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) did patch work by using bitumen, which have since peeled off. Pot holes seemed to be awaiting the arrival of monsoon to appear on these roads in large numbers suddenly.

The people hope that officials of NHAI will take note of their plight and do something to ease the problems without delay.

ALl those who are targeting Siddu and Ramanath Rai, Please note that NHAI comes under the purview of the central government... please ask feku to fill the potholes with his lies.... you will then surely have a smooth runway courtesy bjpee sarkar.

By your comment, you have become cheap as all know 2-3 month is too short for any government to act...
Instead commenting, better you would have organized some youths to temporarily fill the pot holes.
My team in the village has done it and the state highway near our village does not have any potholes. A temporary arrangement till Sidhdhu Government has sufficient time to act...

Thanks Daiji for publishing this news. Regarding this I have raised my voice in many of the meeting with DC, Road Safety committee, Sarige Adalat with respect to Kottara Chowki Service Road. So, far three D.C's are along with NHAI visited the spot, so far no action is been taken due to lack of fund. The Contrator "IRCON" spoiled our road and now vanished from the spot. Now it is our baby and we need to take care. Last month our M.P. Mr.Naleen Kumar Kateel conducted meeting with NHAI officials. NHAI promised that once the rainy season over then only they can take the work. Hope that our Highway Surathkal to B.C.Road get's better shape in coming days.

Talking of pot-holes, I happened to be Vault' over one at B.C. Road, the other day! 'Vault' you ask? Yeas and that too in a vehicle! So big is that 'pot hole'
(If you can call it that!) that even a scud, or a crater falling from above cannot create one!
Go to B.C. Road, just to see this one! it's a rare sight!!
Nowhere in the world or even in the least developed region of the world, would you get to see such a sight!
    Hurry!
Place one again? ...Adjoining road besides the BC Road Flyover, just before the place, where the buses coming to Mangalore stop for a short time....
You will certainly honour the BC Road Panchayat, elected represantatives and all those concerned for sure who have made this happen....

Jossey, No amount of concrete or Plastic will help.
Non corrupt, politicians, honest beaureucrats and law abiding citizens is the only situation. How can countries like Singapore, Malay, Hong Kong, Taiwan mostly half the size of one small state advance so much???
