Kundapur/Udupi, Aug 5: BJP state Raita Morcha on Monday August 4 gheraoed Mescom office in Byndoor opposing unscheduled load shedding and demanding three phase electricity in the rural areas.

Deepak Kumar Shetty, vice-president of BJP state Raita Morcha, who led the protests said that the government had promised to provide electricity for all the 24 hours in the day and cheated the farmers by resorting to unscheduled load shedding and not providing three phase power.

"The situation is such that farmers have to pay exorbitant rates for diesel to run their pump sets and water their agricultural land. The state government has died and not concerned about farmers. The government is discriminating in distribution of power and giving priority to the urban areas. This is only a symbolic protest and if the government does not provide adequate power for the villages, and three phase power for at least eight hours in the day, we will be intensifying the protests," he warned.

Zilla panchayat member Gouri Devadiga, Byndoor BJP president B M Sukumara Shetty, district secretary B S Suresh Shetty, Gururaja Gantihole, Sadananda Uppinakudru, Women's Morcha president Nayana Shanbhog, Ananda Kharvi, Suresh Bijooru, Rajendra S and others were present. An appeal was submitted to Siddesh, assistant engineer of Mescom after the protests.

    Blame Yeddyurappa and shoba Karandlaje.
Shoba Karandlaje promised 24x7 electricity and there was relentless load shedding during Yeddy Rule. Now ask why there is no power supply/Shoba Karantijji.
Why Karantijji shoba is not protesting now.

Vidhyuth Kacheri Mutthige....!. I like that board...Before in olden days kings used to do the same to other kings in India..! Now time had come..like our own people had to do the same to our own offices...!...Muthige...!
When we dont get electricity we fight, When there is no enough electricity to all and had to shed the load, we fight...When government proposes new power projects and then also we protest....! Instead of this Muthige better we go in front of Nagarjuna power plant and do the same as I heard they are selling power to the neighbouring states for higher rates.
