Los Angeles, Aug 2 (IANS): Singer John Legend credits his teachers for helping him cope with his parents' divorce and for motivating him to complete his Ivy League education.
"I was 10 years old when my parents got divorced," the singer was quoted as saying by people.com.
The 35-year-old acknowledges that "seeing his family fall apart was a traumatic moment" in his life. He is also thankful he had his teachers to fall back on.
"It was important to have teachers and counselors at school who could give emotional support," said Legend, who was home-schooled for several years and then went on to finish high school in the public education system before graduating from the University of Pennsylvania.
