Mangalore: Woman found murdered at Panjimogeru, husband absconding

Mangalore, Jul 30: A woman was found murdered at her house in Panjimogeru here on Wednesday July 30.

The deceased has been identified as Annapoorna (32), wife of Fakeerayya (40), a coolie worker from Koppal. Annapoorna too was a coolie worker.

It is suspected that Annapoorna was murdered by Fakeerayya, as he has gone absconding.

The murder came to light in the morning. It is said that the family opens the main door of the house every morning, but on Wednesday, the door remain closed. Growing suspicious, the neighbours went to check, and on looking through the window, saw Annapoorna lying motionless.

The couple had been staying at a rented house in Panjimogeru. Their two children are studying in Koppal. Police sources said that a month ago, Annapoorna had filed a complaint against her husband in Koppal police station, after which the couple shifted to Mangalore. 

It is not yet known how exactly the murder took place. Blood stains and marks were found on the neck and the stomach of the deceased, indicating that she might have been stabbed. The motive behind the murder is yet to be established.

ACP Ravi Kumar and other police officials arrived at the spot.

Kavoor police have registered a case and investigations are on.
