Kasargod, Jul 23: A girl belonging to Koraga community died at Badiadka here on Tuesday July 22, allegedly due to negligence of doctors. The deceased is identified as Geetha(4), daughter of Babu and Sumathi, residents of Peradala Koraga colony.

The child was operated for heart ailment at Pariyaram Medical College a few days ago. The doctors had discharged her soon after, advising her parents to let her rest at home.

However, on Sunday she fell ill and was taken to Badiadka Community Health Center. It is alleged that though there were doctors there, she was sent back home without even a preliminary examination.

Her father Babu said that though she was subsequently taken to a private doctor, she died without responding to treatment. It is alleged that negligence by the government hospital doctors caused her death.

Another patient named Kamala had died here two months ago after being refused treatment.

There are complaints that deadly contagious diseases have spread in Badiadka colony and the department of health has been indifferent. Mahin Kelot, president of standing committee of Badiadka panchayat has urged legal action against doctors who are not providing treatment to patients on time.

So sorry to hear that the Girl couldn't be saved.I must say that word "koraga" community should not be mentioned .Does it matter when one is sick?nowadays all are equal. The cause of her death may be the infection after her Operation must have made her heart more sick.one has to be careful after this Operation.she as a child innocently tolled a bit more.and immunity was less.Heartfelt sympathy to the Family.
