Mangalore: Teacher accused of harassing girl student, goes absconding

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, Jul 21: A lecturer in a college at Vamanjoor has been accused of sexually harassing a girl student.

Accused teacher Harish

Harish, a Kannada lecturer at a private college at Vamanjoor, was allegedly troubling a PU student for the past one year.

It is alleged that Harish used to send her lewd text messages every day and whenever she walked past him in the school premises, would try to touch her. He would even make her wait alone in the campus after class hours, it is alleged.

Fed up with the constant harassment, the girl came home crying on Monday evening and after locking herself in her room, attempted to commit suicide. Her family members broke into her room and saved her on time.

On learning about the teacher's behaviour, the family of the girl approached the police and filed a complaint.

Sources said that the teacher has gone absconding.

Kankanady police are investigating further

Who knows how many innocent girls died of suicide in the past for this reason. Now one after another incident coming to light, few victims have that courage to come out in open and complaint. Only death penalty for culprits will solve this dirty and past growing habit in India. Don't take for granted bringing age related issues. If any person who can commit this type of crime he is not an infant, but mature enough to justify what he doing is crime which is bigger than a murder

Many teachers\instructors were and are actively involved in such behaviour. It is a sort of blackmail of students....
Many of such instances did not & do not come to light due to fear factor of repercussion. Even the parents when informed by the child\girl try to hush it up due to social stigma which may affect the girl in later life or threats by the culprits of the noble profession.
Present day parents should not be afraid of social stigma and find solace in law to punish the guilty.

There are much more than teacher in Spiritual garb that seduce both boys and girls.
The fright of hell and spiritual threat makes the child quiet, even parents try to hush the matter for fright of spiritual blessing.
If a true count is made India will beat USA hands down in child molestation.

All students be it girls or boys should be given basic lessons in class about sexual harassment. They should be made aware that any kind of harassment or ragging is not to be tolerated at any level and that they should speak up or confide in elders immediately at the onset. Nobody should have to wait for a year to approach parents or the police. This is India, where majority of the times we cannot expect any rules or regulations in favour of the general public. In such cases we as parents should teach our kids the right approach when they are confronted by such maniacs. Parents should be more friendly towards their children so that our loved ones don't think twice before approaching us and they don’t have to endure this kind of treatment, these are our kids and who gives the right to anyone to abuse them?

First of all why the students need mobile? It is strictly banned in the schools and colleges. But still why she has to give the number to her Lecturer? Parents should be very careful about their children. But still that Lecturer should be punished. He should not misbehave with the students.

It is surprising that a teacher who is expected to inculcate good behavior in children is himself a culprit.

There is a saying - FENCE EATING THE GRASS' - meaning PROTECTOR TURNING INTO A PREDATOR.

Hope the police will take necessary action so that incidences like these do not occur and esnure that students are able to concentrate on their studies.

The Girl should not have tried to end up her life. Ending life isn't the solution. She should have transparently told everything to her Mother at-least. Good that her life is saved. Now it is time to take a very strict action against the culprit. Such people should never be any teacher in life for such behaviour. Now-er-days anyone becomes a teacher. A teacher should always have and follow good morals so that they can teach the Good Morals to the students. A teacher should receive that respect for their good being as in practical. We need Good teachers in our society who are in in-dept knowledge with the subject. Some are good in subject but not good in having teaching skills. Teachers should have refresher trainings and development programs. Moral Education should be strictly imposed and should be one of the most important subject in modern generation.

She as an MP should not go skin hunting of the Govt. She very well knows how the Govt. runs and the rapes had increased during BJP rule.
Instead she as an MP should give advice to the fair gender what they should do to tackle the menace of harassment\molestation\sexual abuse by force. How they can go about registering cases against such criminals.
As a responsible MP she may have the impact on the fair gender to be bold in such cases.
She is negative in her ways and only trying to defame the present Government who are trying best to change law of punishment to Goonda Act (which is not easy) where accused\culprits cannot get bail very easily.
Why not she strive for such a law?
    It will give her popularity...

I think so its high time that students should keep distance with teachers & not mingle much.
And when a teacher is harassing a student he/she should warn the teacher first .if he continues & then with proof go to higher authorities. Suicide is not a solution.
