Bryan Cranston to return to TV


Los Angeles, July 17 (IANS): Actor Bryan Cranston of the "Breaking Bad" fame is returning to the small screen with a lead role in an adaptation of "All the Way".

"All The Way" is the Broadway play about President Lyndon Johnson. It had won Cranston a Tony award.

Robert Schenkkan will adapt the play for HBO and serve as executive producer with Steven Spielberg, Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey and Cranston. James Degus is attached as a co-executive producer, reports eonline.com.

The play and film narrates President Johnson's office rule following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

An Emmy winner for "Breaking Bad", Cranston also took home awards like the Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle and Theater World Awards for the play.

He's also won a Golden Globe and SAG Award for Breaking Bad. Cranston is up for his final Emmy for playing Walter White in the final season of "Breaking Bad" at the 2014 Emmy Awards held in August.
