Kundapur, Jul 14: Hundreds of students on Monday July 14 boycotted classes and held a protest demanding immediate arrest of the killers of 17-year-old girl who was found dead in a forest area at Alandoor near Byndoor here on July 12.

In the protest led by ABVP and SFI, the students demanded the arrest of the culprits regardless of whoever they were, without delay. They urged that the truth be revealed and justice delivered to the poor family.

"Rapes and murders of women in the country are increasing because the criminals rarely get punished. The situation is such that nobody is bothered about the safety of women. An injustice has been meted out on a poor girl. The culprit should be arrested so that the family gets justice," they said.

"The deceased girl was a minor and even though two days have passed the crime came to light, there have been no developments," they added.

The students sent a memorandum to the state home minister through the tahsildar demanding that the culprits should be arrested and subjected to severe punishment.

ABVP leaders of Bhandarkar's college, Dr B B Hegde college and students leaders of SFI, led the protests. SFI state secretary Gururaj Desai also addressed the protesters. The protesters who marched on Kundapur main road submitted their memorandum through the tahsildar at the taluk office.

While appreciating the bold steps taken by the students of colleges, high schools to express their solidarity against the rape and brutal murder of innocent college girl, while on hr way to the college,it is pity to note that they don't get their due result. That is the experience of the past.Public make hue and cry for some days but without any end result. The losers are the poor parents, who lost their daughters.Except this,no other solace or justice to the poor parents. There are ample number of examples in hand but nobody bothers.Such is the judicial system of our country.Culprits should be handed over harsh punishment like death penalty, life time punishment/sentence once it is proved. In our country how many years will take for punishing the accused. In between,he/she will released on bail and the trend will be continued after the release. Now the problem is,no fear.Money, muscle power speaks. There may be lot more cases which were not came to light and un-registered in fear of law and society. Now our district in particular and state in general has become another Taliban.God only should protect us from all these evil activities.Really these are all heart aching, sobbing incidents.Poor and innocent people cannot live in this society. No justice,no law for them.I humbly request our honorable government to pass an ordinance, which can stop all these non-senses and have sense of fear in the mind of public. At least recognize the cry of ABVP.Very sad.May God grant eternal peace to departed soul of Ratna Kotari and courage, strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
"Rapes and murders of women in the country are increasing because the criminals rarely get punished. The situation is such that nobody is bothered about the safety of women.I wish ABVP gets justice along with the family of deceased.Soujanya,Ratna and many more names to be listed. What a Kaliyuga!!God save us.Poor, innocent people are butchered like animals for no mistakes of them.

Catch and punish the culprits as per the article of Islam i.e :- he should be stoned in front of public then cut his head" So this is very suitable punishment to the culprits. So that no body can dare to commit the offence in his life time.

Really it is a great step at-least the youths have taken a step forward to fight and bring justice to the poor girl. Other wise one more case would have been added in the files of the police register and dumped up. The parents are the real sufferers. Hope the culprits will be behind the bars and punished publicly at-least her soul will rest in peace. Amen

Everything Is the same . Except the girl. - Strikes , Procession , Bandh.. will happen for few days,, and people tend to forget the facts , that our sisters are not Safe, in this environment , this is becoz of legal system, They get motivation to do this… If you want to change kill the person who raped, so that the people will think 1000 times before doing such crimes .. they should be killed without mercy,.. that’s the only way, I call up on every public person.. if you catch him you decide what needs to be done , before handing over him to our legal system……

When hundreds of ladies were gang raped/ allowed to rape in Gujarat under Modis rule, what kind of RAJ was ruling there. Did any one took moral responsibility or any one stepped down.

when the pain comes to our door step, we feel the pinch. We in coastal districts were crying for "Gujarat model, Gujarat modl...." without understanding the pain of other people.
