Mangalore: Soad-4 TV singing contest takes off, gets enthusiastic response

Mangalore, Jul 14: Konknni Sobhannam - Soad-4, a Konkani TV singing contest, began with the audition round at Kalaangann here on Sunday July 13. The contest is being jointly organized by Daijiworld 24x7 television channel and Mandd Sobhann.

Eric Ozario, Gurkaar of Mandd Sobhann briefed the rules and regulations to the participants.

James Mendonca, Ppesident of Mangalore Konkans Dubai, inaugurated the contest by unveiling the mike, in the presence of Oneil D'Souza, managing director of Daijiworld Television, Roshan Ivor, director of Daijiworld Television, Louis Pinto President of Mandd Sobhann and Stany Alvares, coordinator of Mandd Sobhann were present.

On Sunday, the first round for gents category was shot. A total of 45 songs were recorded from 10.30 am to 7.30 pm. As many as 115 participants registered for the auditions.

Eric Ozario, Anil Patrao and Anita D'Souza were the judges for the first round. Roshan D'Souza, Sachin Sequiera, Richard Monteiro and Dilan Caldeira provided the music.

Arun Raj Rodrigues is the anchor of Soad-4, which will be telecast on Daijiworld 24x7 channel soon.

The first round for girls (70 songs) will be shot on Sunday July 27 from 9 am onwards.

Mandd Sobhann which initiated the TV reality show in Konkani has already presented Soad 1, Soad 2 and Soad 3 international successfully in the last 9 years.
