Mangalore, Jul 11: A man accused in a murder case was hacked to death at Moodushedde here on Friday July 11.

The deceased has been identified as Bharat alias Prabhu (27).

Bharat, who was walking to meet a friend near Shubhodaya School in Moodushedde Shivanagar at around 5 pm on Friday was hacked to death with machetes by two persons who came on a bike.

Bharat was the prime accused in the murder of Kadle Manja alias Manjunath near T T Temple at Bajilkeri in the city on the night of February 1, 2009. Along with Bharat, two others, Guruprasad and Harish, were arrested and jailed in this case. Relating to this murder, Guruprasad was murdered by some miscreants with lethal weapons near Juice Corner at Bibi Alabi Road, Bunder in the city on April 23, 2012.

Bharat's attempts at committing suicide because of harassment by other inmates of Mangalore jail when he was lodged here had made headlines sometime back. This peculiar type of method used for eliminating rival gangsters is a replay of the gang wars in Mumbai in the 70s to mid 80s!!!

There is a need for either Police outpost or a Police Station in Vamanjoor since nearest police station is Bajpe or Kavoor or Rural station at Kulshekar Kaikamba if crime or accident happens in Vamanjoor area police need to come all the way from rural station and crime rate has been at a high from many years now in this area

@achchu. No need to obtain a licence while buying a machete. FYI, I believe even for pistol or any other types of guns the owners doesn't have the licence. To act any heinous crimes the killer doesn't think that he should hit, shoot, etc.

What a Sad End of one more gangster."Good Begets Good and Evil reaps Evil".It should be an eye opener for every gangster in town, who boast that people know his power of doing Evil, that the End will be something similar or even worst.Every parent should check the company of the children in School & Colleges,to avoid such outcomes in the society. Its better for the Children to be by themselves than being in Bad Company.

    Perinje Saab,
An inactive Home ministry under a sleeping Government also is a reason for murder and rape in Karnataka.
