Mangalore: Teenage girl ends life by jumping off bridge at Gurpur

Mangalore, Jul 9: A young girl allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the bridge into Phalguni river at Gurpur here on Wednesday July 9.

The deceased has been identified as Mallika (16), daughter of Padmanna, a resident of Chilimbigudde, Gurpur.

She was the youngest among Padmanna's four children.

It is said that on Wednesday morning, she came by auto rickshaw to the bridge, and as soon as auto driver left, she jumped into the river.

The reason for taking the extreme step is not yet known. Locals said that she had recently discontinued her studies.

The body, which was found floating in the river, was later retrieved.

Bajpe police arrived at the spot.

    When someone feels neglected and no one to support, these incidents happen. Don't neglect your elders and young ones. They are majority of people need someone to care and understand them. This is the stage where both feel matured. We should understand them with love and care. Don't take on your head everything. Getting angry on them will only separate them from us.     people doesn't know the value of life this life is gift from god we don't have any right to kill our self. there is a solution for the every problem. if god create problem he also given solution to them first find out solution..in 70's china was first in youngster's suicide rate but now they are lowest one now India will become first teach the youth about suicides in schools and colleges.

    Ask value of life with people suffering from Cancer. Taking such a extreme step at this age is not at all acceptable. Sucide is not at all the solution for all problems.

    It is a matter of regret that we read suicide cases quite often.

    In the background of cases like these, serious thought should be given to holding counseling classes to all students from the grass root level.
