Bangalore, Jul 7: State health minister and Mangalore MLA, U T Khadar, is known for his kindness and helping nature. In several cases of road accidents including a recent one near Periyapatna, Khadar had set aside all his work to rush to the help of suffering accident victims by shifting them to hospitals and following up the issues of their care and treatment.
An incident which occurred near Mekhri Circle in the city on Sunday exemplified this virtue of the minister again. An aged couple, Hariharan (71), and Shanta (64), had suffered extensive injuries after being hit at this circle by a vehicle while crossing the road. Khadar was moving in his car to attend Iftar party organized by a friend on account of Ramadan.
The minister, after seeing that these accident victims, who were lying in a pool of blood, stopped his car immediately, and asked his driver to carry the injured persons to K C General Hospital in his car.
He then hired an auto rickshaw to attend the Iftar party. His driver, after admitting the two into the hospital, picked up the minister later from his friend's place.
