Mumbai, July 6 (IANS): Congress activists in Maharashtra Sunday protested against inflation and price rise under the new NDA government at the Centre, a party official said here.
The Congress highlighted how the spiralling inflation coupled with hike in oil prices and train fares have hit the masses, state spokesperson Sachin Sawant said.
The activists accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of going back on his pre-election promise of reducing inflation and prices of essential commodities.
They submitted memoranda to district officials in which they condemned the price rise and demanded a roll back of the hikes in oil prices and railway fares.
The party has also sent similar memoranda to President Pranab Mukherjee and the central government and said the agitations will continue.
