Mangalore, Jul 6: He's just five years old, but has the ability to operate a JCB escavator!

The cute little bundle of talent, Darsheel Rao, deftly moves the arms of the excavators to dig the land with its bucket. Though he is not a trained professional in operating JCB excavators, the confidence he exudes and the way he manoeuvres the machine would give any professional a run for his money.

Darsheel also knows how to level the land, dig the mud and load and move the JCB in any direction with admirable patience and bravery.

The boy had first hand-hand experience with the JCB when he accompanied his uncle Anil Rao to construction sites during his vacation. He succeeded in learning to operate the excavator.

Darsheel Rao, son of Jayaprakash and Mangala Rao, is in UKG in Nazareth Kindergarten school, Balmatta. Jayaprakash, who works in Hindustan Aeronautics Limited wants his son to be a pilot.

"During school holidays, Darsheel often visited construction sites with me. Because of his enthusiasm and the desire to learn to operate the JCB excavator, I allowed him, but only after ensuring that it was safe," said Anil Rao who owns two excavator machines.

Sathish, a JCB operator who taught Darsheel the skills, said, "He learnt to operate it in one and half month's time. Now he is able to load, move and level the land. But he is too young and needs guidance.

"Whenever the family visits malls, Darsheel prefers to buy a new toy excavator. He has collected various types of toy excavators. If for some reason the toys do not work, he takes pleasure in repairing them," said Anil Rao.

Darsheel Rao lives in a joint family which is very supportive of him.

IT IS AN UNSAFE ACT! One should not encourage the under-aged to operate heavy vehicle., Parents should be behind the bars for this act. One needs to have a valid license meaning he has undergone a valid course and thoroughly aware of all operations. For you Kind Information, the Area is not Barricaded/Isolated., So anyone who enters the site would be in danger. Moreover there are no Signage boards. Hence it's a serious offense.

It is mere ignorance of the consequences from parents of the 5 year old child. It is extremely dangerous move by Mr. Rao to train and allow his young child to handle this heavy duty machinery independently. Please take this illustration as a warning bell and do not get impressed with this extraordinary unsafe act. Please promote safety everywhere.

Feel sorry for the kid. The kid is being manipulated by his parents, just like the JCB controls.

One who encourages and appreciates such an act should be brought to books. The kids play may one day culminate into a major disaster to others (including the child). We do not need to make much publicity of such event because this may encourage other kids to venture into a dangerous game.

Police should take right action to discourage such incidents.

Health and Safety is becoming more important everyday all over the world, unfortunately not in countries like India where human life is "expendable". You cannot allow anybody (let alone a 5 year old) to operate heavy machinery without required training and a valid licence. I'm happy to read the comments here. A majority of us are at least aware of the dangers involved.

Very confident and cheerful kid however, giving the reigns of a heavy earth mover in a 5 years old hands is sheer irrational exhibitionism, throwing caution to the winds, putting life and property at risk, and illegal!!

Last year a video of a multimillionaire businessman's 9 year old son from a southern state was allowed to drive his father's Ferrari with his 7 year old sibling in the rear seat, the video filmed, which got worldwide publicity and shock but since driving by a minor even on a pvt. road is illegal in India, the parents got into trouble for this act!!

Wish this daring child all the best and his desire to be a pilot fulfilled!!!

Nowadays it is fashion for parents to train their minor kids on running vehicles and these kind of heavy machines, and then boasting as though their kid is genius. This is not a big achievement but very risky to the life of the operator and those around us. We have instances where minors have tried such things before and causing life and damage property. Kids of such age must play with toys do paintings, sing and show their talent

This is not the thing on which parent should be proud on .....its not the right decision to handover a JCB to kid.....its a shame.

They don't give a damn to think who is behind the wheels & small mistake can cause life of that child as well as..... it will lead to many other things.

Please arrest the parents and teach them lesson.

This is happened in India. Don't compare your Gulf with Indian corrupt rules. i.e. If father rapes daughter or any girl in middle east they will give judgement within 1 month and they will handover him to Firing Squad and kill him, but in India they will keep in jail than bail?????
