Mangalore: Youth rescued from well at Kadri after four days

Mangalore, Jul 6: In a strange incident reported at Kadri here on Sunday July 6 evening, a youth was rescued from a well four days after he fell into it.

The youth has been identified as Praveen from Balmatta. He is said to be around 25-28 years old and reportedly suffering from a life-threatening illness.

It is said that two persons, identified as Pradeep and Dinesh, were passing by the private well located near Kadri cave (guhe) when they heard shouts for help emanating from the well.

On checking, they saw the youth at the bottom of the well. As per Dinesh and Pradeep, the youth pleaded for help and said he fell into it four days ago.

Pradeep and Dinesh then informed Kadri police, who in turn contacted the fire service.

The police and fire personnel rushed to the spot and managed to rescue the youth.

The youth was rushed to Wenlock hospital for check-up.
