Puttur: Tanker kills nine-year-old boy near Uppinangady

Puttur, Jul 6: In a tragic incident, a nine-year-old boy died on the spot when a gas tanker rammed into him on national highway 75 near Uppinangady here on Saturday July 6.

The deceased, Mohammed Aslam (9), was the son of Ashraf, a resident of Hirtadka near Matha here.

Aslam was a student of third standard at Matha higher primary school.

It is said that Aslam was on his way to Hirtadka ground to watch some youngsters play cricket. When he was walking towards the ground, a tanker plying from Bangalore to Mangalore rammed into him, killing him on the spot.

Puttur traffic police registered a case in this regard.

The tanker driver has been arrested.
