Mangalore, Jul 5: Mangalore South MLA J R Lobo visited various area in and around Jeppinamogaru and inspected the concretization work that is in progress. he visited the areason Saturday July 5 along with local corporators, MCC officials and leaders. Taking advantage of the occasion, he also spoke to the locals and listened to their complaints and feedback from the public.

Jeppinamogaru main road

The Jeppinamogaru main road is under concretization at a cost of Rs 1.30 crores under the SFC grant fund. Lobo paid a visit to the spot and inspected the construction work, especially with regard to the maintenance of quality at all points. He held a discussion with the officials and the corporators with regard to the continuation of the presently proposed distance of concretization.

The main road had been left unattended and damaged for a very long time; the public and the vehicles were facing too many problems in this regard. The locals have thus been relieved from their major problem that they were facing for a long time.

Yekkur Main Road

The concretization of the Yekkur main road is already complete and has been let for use. The MLA inspected the quality and lauded the officials and the contractor for the good quality maintained in construction. Discussions were held with regard to continuation of road further.

The bridge on this main road is very old and since being narrow it has been creating problems for the movement of vehicles. "Proposals will be sent for the construction of a new bridge across," said J R Lobo.

Adam Kudru pipeline

The people of Adam Kudru were facing problems with regard to drinking water and this issue was already brought to the notice of teh MLA during his earlier visits. The locals were sometimes even forced to drink salt water. Hence taking this issue seriously, the MLA had ordered for a drinking water pipeline to be installed from the Nethravathi bridge to Adam Kudru Church.

The project has already begun. "The total estimated cost is Rs 17 lacs and the work will be carried out at the earliest possible," said the MLA. During his inspection today, the public expressed their joy and happiness for carrying out the pipeline work.

Flood areas

J R lobo also visited a place in Jeppinamogaru named Bolla Kallathodu, where the people are facing severe problems due the rain water flooding the road. The locals are not even able to walk on the roads during the rainy season.

The MLA promised that the road level would be increased and would keep the needed amount from the funds during the next term. He asured taht the work would be started and completed at the earliest.

City traffic diversions

As all of us are aware of the road diversions implemented for the smooth traffic movement in Bendorwell and Balmatta areas, the MLA accompanied by traffic ACP Udaya Nayak visited these spots and discussed with the officials further developments to be proposed with regard to movement of traffic.

I wrote a number of emails to Mr. Lobo's CARING Team about the drainage problem we are facing from Nanthoor circle to Kaikamba Junction Kulshekar. Through one of the Building Societies we gave a petition to her personally when he visited Infant Jesus Shrine in Bikernakatta. Other than saying meet my Secretary - not any action taken. We belong to Essel Towers in Bikernakatta, our sewage is flowing overland because there is no connection made by the contractor as yet No pipeline laid by the MCC. He is our representative and hence we seek his assistance in this respect too. Can we count on Mr. Lobo?

We need a footpath and some overbridge for pedestrians along these one way roads,if they r going to to stay.it's impossible to cross roads with the continuously flowing traffic..all the way signal free..i still think traffic light installation would have been better option.the buses have only been benefited by this..no one else..poor pedestrians.
