Mangalore, Jul 3: A woman has been accused of duping several people by taking money from them with false assurances of providing them with materials to set up self-employment ventures.

It is said that Jeppu resident Haseena, of Chintan Marketing Private Limited, met Vijaya Nair at the Rudset (Rural Development & Self Employment Training) programme at Ujire and assured her of providing materials to start a self employment venture, as an office-bearer of Chintan Marketing Enterprises. She asked Vijaya to meet her for the quotation. Vijaya Nair received a DD from bank and gave it to Haseena to provide materials. Though she gave the money a year ago, Vijaya has not received any materials till now.

Chintan Marketing apart, Haseena is also reportedly running Entrepreneurs' Multi Purpose Co-operative Society and another entity called Janashri Food Products, and under people have been allegedly duped under these two also. It is alleged that her husband as well as members of the firms she was running were aware of the malpractice.

Nazeer, a resident of Pandeshwar said, "I deposited Rs 5 lac in Entrepreneurs' Multi Purpose Co-operative Society for a duration of two years. When I approached the Co-operative Society, they gave me a cheque, but it bounced."

"Puttaswamy, MD of Entrepreneurs' Multi Purpose Co-operative Society, Purushotham Rai, president of the Co-operative Society and Haseena, the vice president of Co-operative Society are involved in this fraud," he alleged.

Vijaya Nair, a victim of this fraud, speaking over the phone alleged that she has been running from pillar to post for the past one year and till today has not received any materials. She also said that she is not able to pay back the bank loan.

Shivananda said, "Haseena took Rs 19 lac from me and assured that she would provide me with the materials required to run the gold ornaments business. To pay the bank debt, I mortgaged all the jewellery of my mother and sister."

On Thursday July 2, Tulunada Rakshana Vedike under the initiative of Jeppu Yogish Shetty complained to the police commissioner. The commissioner assured of forming a committee to investigate the case and taking appropriate action against the accused. Jeppu Yogish Shetty also alleged that Haseena is running other various institutions like Janashri Food Products and Entrepreneurs' Multi Purpose Co-operative Society to fool people.

"If there is no action in this regard, we will hold a massive protest in front of the DC's office," Yogish Shetty said.

It is learnt that victims have filed a complaint against Haseena and others in Kankanady and Pandeshwar police stations.

i have read the articles and seen the pictures posted. All i can say that haseena is just holding some position in the company and co-operative society. she doesn't own it nor does she has access to the money. In the picture there are so many people standing , saying they are the other directors. then how can haseena be targeted??? Looks like she is being a scape goat and bearing some persons personal revenge. As long as the real person doesn't get caught, victims please forget about your money

Easily believing strangers and looking out for easy avenues, is sure way to become victim of dupers.

Simple logic, consistent and well established bankers and corporates unable to offer high returns on investment!
HOW SILLY it is to believe newly established, inconsistent, unknown for repayment track and inexperienced entities?
Person who has worked hard to earn and duped earlier will always think logically and play safe.
But this world has enough number of cheats as well as stupid persons, made for each other, and this chain is continuing.

As long as there are fools in the society, the cheaters exist. People need to be careful. Now no use in crying. People should have used their brains before giving money to this lady cheat. Hope the victims get their money back...

..this time agree for your FEKU word..i was alerting my neighbors about AGRI GOLD company since long time..they are showing heaven to the people..many from DK & UDUPI invested lacs, moreover these are all poor people..this company definitely one day will run away with money since all of their activities is very suspicious like planting teak wood as investment, giving land, hefty commission to the agents so on..these type companies register themselves under trust, charity organisation so on, when people approach court then only they will realise how they are duped..

So the victims waited a year or more instead of complaining within 2-3 months?
Now file complain and yell at Police to solve it quick or protest?

We know how things are in India, and yet we pressure them further to add to the mess. Well done morons.
