Kasargod, Jul 2: A dead body of a Mandya resident was found in a well near Cherkala here two days ago and this given rise to suspicion that it colud be a murder.
The body of Ravikiran (35), a resident of Mandya Girikula, was found in a well here in a decomposed state near Cherkala telephone exchange in Vidyanagar police station limits.
Ravikiran was staying with his wife and children in the quarters at Malla Kasargod. He had gone to Cherkala market on Thursday June 26
after which he had gone missing. His body was found in a well on Sunday June 29. His body which was kept in the mortuary of Kasargod General hospital was identified on Monday.
His wife has alleged that her husband was murdered. "Ravikiran who was involved in the road work was receiving threat calls from his co- workers and was assaulted twice," his wife said.
He had kept aside Rs 16,000 for buying gold for two of his daughters and the co-workers had snatched it. They threatened him
when he asked the money back. His wife said that Ravikiran had told her about the threat to his life. She has urged for an
investigation into the incident.
Ravikiran was a resident of Mandya Girikula resident by origin. He had married Yashodhara, a resident of Puttur ten years ago and was staying in Kasargod.
They have two daughters. The elder daughter Sandhya is a student of seventh standard at Adooru Government school and younger one is Shravya, studying in Puttur in a school near Balad. The unexpected death of Ravikiran who was their pillar has pushed them into grief.
