Mangalore: Six city post office branches introduce core banking facilities

Mangalore, Jun 28: “Under Mangalore department, six post office branches have started core banking facility and in these all types of banking are available,” said K A Devaraj, the senior post superintendent, Mangalore department, during the post office Lok Adalat on Friday June 27, at the Balmatta post office.

“In Mangalore city, there are 51 sub-offices as well as Pandeshwar and Kulshekar main offices. Core banking facility is also provided in Pandeshwar main office, Bejai sub-office, NITK campus, Srinivas Nagar, district court office, Fisheries College’s post office and at Bajpe Airport. This kind of facility is working with the help of CBS Pinnacle and internet banking, mobile banking and other facilities are available,” he added.


“Books, greeting cards, decorative items and various others items are available at the post offices. Under the ‘Sampoorna Gram Jeevan Vima’ scheme, rural post insurance is included and in Mangalore department a total of 18 branches are there. Among that Nadugodu, Kakwa, Panjinadka and Mangati are also included under rural post insurance. Other offices will be working under the insurance scheme from this year,” Devaraj added.

There were two complaint letters from the people; Ibrahim Shareef from Bunder had written that the postal officials did not collect the letters from the State Bank post box and the other letter was written by Sureshchandra from Bolar seeking the setting up of a help desk centre for the people to get information.
