Mumbai, Jun 27 (NDTV): A fire broke out in a building at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) station on Friday evening but no casualty has been reported so far, fire officials said.
Eight fire engines have been rushed to the location. Traffic jams are being reported in South Mumbai.
The fire broke out in the administrative wing located above the train station.
"We got a call at about 5 pm and we immediately pressed four fire tenders into service. Thereafter, the fire was upgraded one notch to Grade 2 and a total of eight fire tenders, snorkels and ambulances have now been rushed to the spot," an official said.
Vehicular traffic on the JJ flyover was halted temporarily and services of few trains in the suburban line were also affected, he said.
The cause of the blaze has not been ascertained yet and efforts are on to evacuate the officials working in the building, the official added.
