Panaji, Jun 27: Sri Rama Sene chief Pramod Muthalik criticized the Congress for its 'hypocrisy' in opposing his statement regarding possession of sword and said that he would file a complaint against Indian National Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi in Karnataka for accepting swords in various public meetings.
Muthalik said, "I had appealed that the house of every Hindu should have a sword, and it should be worshipped. The so-called non-violent Congresmen in Goa opposed me and demanded that action should be taken against me.
"Goa Congress should first carry out introspection over the goings on in their own party. In fact, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi have accepted swords in various public meetings. To give sword, a weapon, and to accept it is an offence. I will register an offence against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi as soon as I reach Karnataka," he said in a statement to the media after arriving in Goa for the third All India Hindu Convention.
He further said, "The news items and photographs of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi accepting swords in public meetings have been published in various newspapers and TV channels. The photographs in this respect are also avalaible on many websites. Congressmen should first clarify their position on this issue. What message do you want to convey by accepting swords in public meetings? This message is definitely not of non-violence.
"Congressmen will not reply to this question; however, Sri Rama Sene will file a complaint in Karnataka against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, in order to expose Congressmen over their hypocrisy," he said.
