Mangalore: Hotelier Podumbu Sanjeev Shetty passes away

Mangalore, Jun 23: A well-known hotelier and Kambala sportsman, Podumbu Sanjeev Shetty (67), the resident of Podumbu near Siddakatte, expired on Saturday June 21 night in a private hospital in the city, due to ill health. He has left behind his wife, two sons and a daughter.

Being a well-known Kambala sportsman, he has even served as a president of Hukkadigoli Veera- Vikram Jodukare Kambala and he himself owned a pair of buffaloes.

He has even served as a president in associations like Poonja Sri Durgaparameshwari temple renovation Committee and management committee. 

He was the vice-president of Siddakatte Government P U College development board. He was also active in the Siddakatte and Vamadapadavu Sarvajanika Sri Ganeshotsava Committee and Sharadotsava Committee. 

He was elected as the member of gram panchayath from Chennaithody for a term. He owned hotels at Siddakatte and Vamadapadavu.

The funeral was arranged on Sunday June 22. State minister for forest and district-in-charge, B Ramanath Rai, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, ex-minister B Nagaraj Shetty, MLC K Monappa Bhandary, state BJP vice-president Sulochana G K Bhat, BJP leader Ulipadygutthu Rajesh Naik and various other leaders offered condolences to Podumbu Sanjeev Shetty.
