Mangalore: Bajrang Dal stops lorries transporting cattle with VHP's permission

Mohan Kuthar
Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, Jun 21: The activists of Bajrang Dal on Friday June 20 night waylaid two lorries that were transporting over 30 cattle from Punjab to Kerala and handed them over to the police.

However, for the Bajrang Dal activists, it was an anti-climax of sorts after it came to light that the cattle transporters possessed permit letters issued by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP).

Kebal Singh and Sukka Singh were transporting over 30 cattle in two lorries from Ludhiana in Punjab to Kerala with the permission of VHP.

When the lorries were passing through Mangalore, activists of Bajrang Dal noticed them and began to follow on bikes. One lorry was waylaid at Netravati bridge while the other was stopped near Kotekar.

On questioning, the drivers produced a letter from VHP granting permission for the transportation of the cattle.

The two lorries were nevertheless taken to Ullal police station, where the drivers were questioned and sent on their way.

Is Hinduism is really in danger as proclaimed by hindutva forces? Hinduism has survived for ages despite the fact that India has been a subject of various foreign powers for a vast period over this time. It is totally impossible to believe that such an overwhelming majority can be in danger for the minorities. And not merely a majority of numbers, but a majority in every aspect of state – legislation, utive, judiciary, press, military, etc.
if there is any real danger to Hinduism in a long run, it is from the fundamentalist Hindus themselves who have hijacked the term Hindu for their selfish aims. Their hostility towards their own people and their aggressive attitude towards the others have made a common Hindu to think seriously about his being a Hindu.

Tomorrow even citizens of this country having aadhar, passport,ration,id/voter card will be stopped for carrying a bag with meat or vegetables... even if they have a pass from VHP..BJP..BJD... After verification u need a final clearance by POLICE a governmental org paid by citizens for law and order .

These cows are of Giri Breed in Indian Cattle Breed (Bos Indicas), which are considered to be Milk breed cattle. If they live in hygienic atmosphere with ample food, they give milk about 20-35 litres, and are priced around 2 Lakh for a pair.
So will any fool carry these cattle from Punjab to Kerala for Slaughter purpose ? Definitely it should have been for some Goshala or Temple or definitely for some noble work.

Sir: What you are telling is 201% correct. The great Hindu religion of tolerance has been systematically used by the unscrupulous politicians as a spade card, and the gullible electorate blindly followed them, killing each other thus the political business of the politicians are marching forward and they are getting too rich through all the short cuts.

I grew up with Hindus in my small village, we lived in love and peace, participated in social functions, sorrows and happiness.
Now the politicians have injected the virus of bitterness and the olden day love and friendships are gone. When the average person will comprehend this dirty trick?

It's from Punjab to Kerala, not from Panjal to Karkala! The traders at least need to make some profit after paying such amount to to BD to obtain legal permit illegally. Its long distance and trader will be paid only for alive cows not the dead. Kerala is one of the highest beef consumer, there is no dairy farms.

The way in which cattle are transported here (first 3 pics) looks like they are transported for Goshalas somewhere in Kerala. All Cattle have sufficient space & are cool.
Many here comment blindly without close observation. Contrary in many cases in past here shows, wherein Cattle are stacked heavily, one above other, meaning that they are carried for Slaughter house. That's the difference. ...which shows whether it's carried for Goshalas or Slaughter house.

Just ponder over the reason the cows to be sent to Kerala from Punjab ? If I am not mistaken, because in Kerala Beef is legally sold.

So, does VHP have the right to decide where the cows should go or where they shouldn't ?
