We need the rains very badly for every needs of ours. Sometimes it rains mildly, sometimes heavily causing turmoil and inconvenient to all and sometimes no rains. Human beings have no control over this. We have to face it whether it is good or bad. It is nature. My thanks to Spoorthi Ullal for the wonderful photo coverage of the rains which damaged properties, injured people and caused inconvenience to all those affected by this rain.

Joseph, Qatar, Your comments were good as you have mentioned Bombay in it and I am sure Shiv Sena and Marathi manoos will not like it. They want Bombay to be named as MUMBAI.

A few years ago and during the time of concretisation of the Jeppu Seminary road, a few residents objected to the trimming / felling of old big trees. They put up boards on the trees saying " SAVE ME ". Now during the monsoon season if these old big trees fall and kill a few people, who would be responsible ? Can those protesters be taken to task for murder ?

Looking at the photographs I am just pondering whether this havoc is really possible to have been wreaked by nature / mankind's greed. However, in continuation to the above, I am beginning to wonder whether the rain gods are going to be benevolent on Bombay .. believe me, it's still hesitating to rain .. it is raining very minimal ... just 2 or 3 minutes and that's the end of it. June has nearly ended and the monsoons have laid a drought type situation in Bombay. On the funnier side, coastal places in Maharashtra like Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Sawantwadi etc. are getting their fair share of showers. So near to Bombay, but distant away for Bombayites to get relief from the present searing heat.

    It happens during rainy times...
    When everything gets uprooted outside
    Romance gets rooted inside
You find it difficult to hide
Roll over from side to side....
By rules find it difficult to abide.

Nature has it's own medicine for man made problems. It looks like slowly and steadily the monsoon is catching up. Let there be ample rain, and good crops. Less havoc and danger for the people.
