Kasargod: Drug peddlers addicting youngsters to painkiller tablets

Kasargod, Jun 17: The drug peddlers, who are in a tight spot after the police increased vigilance over the movements of those peddling drugs like ganja and other forms of drugs, have now found a new way to stay afloat, the police say. The officials said they have detected illegal sale of a form of painkiller with unduly high doses of certain substances, which give the youngsters including students a kick, and create in them a craving for consumption of these tablets repeatedly.

This tablet, being popularly identified as I P Medicine, is increasing its hold on students and other young people alike. These details came into the open after the police arrested two youth, Nishad from Kadirur, and Rinshad from Chirakkal who were found selling these tablets illegally.

Over a thousand tablets were confiscated from their possession. These tablets were also found during the operation of teams of officials formed for acting against drugs peddling within the college premises under 'Clean Campus – Safe Campus' project, it is gathered.

These tablets, manufactured under the name, 'Spasmo Proxyvon', are usually prescribed for patients suffering from end stage cancer, are banned in Kerala. The police found they were brought from Mysore.

The peddlers of this tablets, it is said, also plan to spread addiction for the same among young ladies by claiming them to be helpful in enhancing beauty of face and body, and then exploit them sexually once they become addicted to the tablet, the police personnel claim.

    These Drug peddlers addicting the youth to painkiller tablets is really demolishing the youngsters in the long run by making them addicted.This need to be stopped by the police department without any delay to save the youth and the society.

    whom to blame? During my college days we used to study hard for our future, bcoz we had nothing which our parents made. They were telling us u should study search for a job and stand on ur own legs. so we did. now a days for children no need to work mummy and daddy have money house everything, so they are also enjoying.

    When the parents give money lavishly to their children, they will be playing with drugs as if a fun, but when hooked on them after using for one week, they are in serious trouble.

    The cold blooded drug pushers must be treated as murderers, and deserve the same punishment.

    Please do not just put them into jail and feed them give them the same killer tablets till these end their lives in jails. They should be hanged to death because they are doing the same thing to the students. Please just do not treat them as national but anti national and terrorist in the form of drug paddlers.

    Drug addiction will spoil the nation. This is one place where moral policing may be appropriate. Culprits must be handed over to the law enforcing agencies. The participants shall be drawn from all religions to avoid communal color.
