Mangalore, Jun 11: JD(S) party workers on Wednesday June 11 protested in front of Mangalore City Corporation for allegedly abusing their party corporator Abdul Azeez.

The protestors were referring to the chaos that erupted at the MCC office on Tuesday June 10 after residents of Kandak protested against the proposed ice plant in their area. The additional town planning officer (ATPO) had alleged that the protest was a conspiracy by corporator Azeez.

The JD(S) members picketed outside the MCC building against the officials for not responding to their needs and for not taking action against ATPO Shivaraj. When the protestors tried to gatecrash into the building, the police stopped them.

S P Chengappa, a JD(S) member said, "We are protesting against corrupt officers like Shivaraj. There are two JD(S) corporators and rest all are BJP and Congress corporators. They are building the ice plant illegally and the MCC commissioner should throw the ATPO Shivaraj out of MCC."

When the people tried to enter the office, police blocked them and the protesters then started to demand to see MCC commissioner Ajith Kumar Hegde.

Finally, the Ajith Hegde came out and accepted the appeal from the protesters, and assured that he would take the right decision after studying the matter.

A Vasanth Poojary, JD(S) general secretary, J Mohammed, corporator Abdul Azeez, Mohammed Kunhi, Ratnakar Suvarna, Ram Ganesh, Srinath Rai, Akshith Suvarna, R Dhanraj JD(S) working committee president and others were present during the protest.

    Veeresh,
Sitting in Dubai may be your mind works similar. ICE plant is serious issue, this may cause Water scarcity in the region. people are facing serious issues on water while MCC is giving easy licences for factory's. Factory permission only should be issued if they process sea water and use it for commercial purpose like Dubai Does. not the natural water resources, USE it - Make money - Make Manglore like a desert.

we have so many serious problems in mangalore. instead of protesting against the actoul problems and finding a solution these unproductive peaple hold a flag and start thier drama. holding a particular flag infront of camera wont make any sence.it clearly shows they are not protesting for the welfare of the peaple but they are protesting just for the political party they belong.it may be congress, bjp, jds etc. when it comes to personal benifit they are no were to be seen. at the time of election we come to know that these blady politicians are alive.and we the peaple run behind them and vote them only because he or she supported a particular religion cast etc. we never see thier education, criminal backround and his asset. At the end we need india to be developd.shame on us.
