Bellary: 37-year-old bed-ridden woman killed as TV explodes


Bellary, Jun 11 (DHNS): A 37-year-old woman died of burns after the television in her house exploded due to high voltage here on Tuesday.

According to the police, Parvathi, who was suffering from kidney failure, was watching television after returning from a dialysis session at the Vijaynagar Institute of Medical Sciences.

The TV exploded suddenly and fell on her. The bed-ridden woman was unable to rescue herself and died of severe burns, her family members said.

Police said that there were no complaints of high voltage from the neighbouring houses and the Gescom officials were looking into the matter.

Cowl Bazaar police have registered a case.
