Mangalore: Ivan D'Souza nominated member of Legislative Council?

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, Jun 10: In a sudden development, KPCC secretary Ivan D’Souza is understood to have been nominated member of Legislative Council. His name was already in the list of candidates that were to be elected by the members of Legislative Assemby to the Legislative Council, and on Monday June 9 evening, in a hurried meeting, his name was finalized, sources said.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Ivan D’Souza said for the post of nominated MLC, as directed by the party high command, CM Siddaramaiah sent my name along with other 4 others to the governor for approval.

"The DK district is to get a representation in the Legislative Council from the Congress. Along with me, Bosraj who has been MLA twice was also in the list," he said.

DK district Congress committee interim president K Ibrahim Kodijal said that the party had recommended Ivan D’Souza for the Legislative Council, thus giving a representation to the coastal region.

"This will indeed boost the growth of the party in the coastal region," he said.

Congrats Mr D'Souza on being nominated as an MLC.
I only hope that you,not being limited to just one little area, will make sure that you have time for all of DK unlike ...... or...... who keep saying not from my area,go to the other.
And also be different, refuse to waste your time gracing functions, inaugurating offices, shops or business premises or going round the world to be felicitated.
You are our representative so be there for us, always.
You will move up the ladder in this manner only.

What is wrong in Dr. E. Lewis' mentioning that Mr. I. D'Souza is going to represent their community?
You may have wrongly understood his word "Community" and applied it to his religion, which is definitely wrong.

For me community are the people around me who I live with\interact with and share the interests in and around.
It can be twisted too to suit once interest for creating problems.

    SAVIO,

IVAN changed his party once in his lifetime because JDS had no base no future for him.See example of Veteran Ameranath Shetty of Moodbidri who is still in JDS and has spoiled his political career.Should he (Ameranna)changed the party to CONGRESS or BJP,I think he could had CM of Karnataka by now.

Ivan D Souza is not enters
backdoor to COUNCIL because he was denied Assembly ticket last time in the 11th hour.Had he decided to quit Congress, certainly BJP will accept him with two hands because there is no Christian Community leader in whole of Karnataka and coastal region in particular.Currently He is KPCC general secretary,Auto driver/owner president,Lawyer and apart from that he was ex President Mangalore All College Student union President...

Dr. Edward Lewis, intimidation uncalled for.
If he felt happy for elevation of a fellow community man, why should be termed as biased?
In USA, Tulsi Gabbard, a Hindu, elected to Congress in 2012, without any religious bias, so many people of our Country expressed happiness about it, should that also be termed as biased or mean?
Surely not, it is a kind of self respect!
