Even though RTO has made SPEED GOVERNORS mandatory, these bus people only install it until the RTO inspection. Later on go to the nearby garage and remove the speed governor. Strict rules should be enforced regarding Speed governors.

This is not the first time Durgamba is involved in accident,rash driving.To the best of my knowledge Durgamba and KSRTC buses are involved in frequent accidents that itself shows their concern for the passengers.Drivers are in hurry and least bothered about the lives of hundreds of passenger,who are blindly relying on drivers and conductors till they reach their destination.But concerned departments,authorities are dumb spectators and watching the fun,without taking any stern action either on company or on rash drivers/conductors.That is the attitude of the bus management.Those who lose their kith and kins in the accidents are the real sufferers and losers.There is no speed limit,no driving manners,not adhering to the traffic rules and jumping red light etc are the main causes for this kind of accidents.Anyhow I pray Almighty God to grant eternal peace to the departed soul of one and half year child and heartfelt condolence to bereaved family and speedy recovery of the injured.

All Durgamba buses are known to be driven at high speed. All drivers want to reach home early. This is a serious issue and the management has to look at it.

None of the bus drivers in the City of Mangalore as well as long distances have been sensitized to the safety of people travelling. So many lives are at the mercy of 1 driver who "cares a hoot" while seated on the driver seat, whose only intention is reach as fast as possible, but have no concern of the people with him. I think travellers in the bus should raise their voice rather than sit quietly and be at the mercy of the driver. Why point fingers after the accident.

As a passenger, we have no control on driver. But we have control on our seat belt. Why can not we ware this? Even for child, we need to ensure seatbelt like how it was done in flight.

Durgamba motors is from Kundapura. Bye the way in which sleeper class coach there is seat belt. Can you send some good images of that. Note : I don't want photos of Singapore buses.

Forget about sleeper coaches, you will not find them in normal seating buses.

There is no stringent rule in India with regard to transport. RTO are in their lavish life. Even there is no proper and clear law. You might have seen court order to pay fine of 10,000 rupees if fail 6 months jail.

Let there be a rule that Driver or the insurance company has to pay certain amount of compensation. Unless this is not fulfilled driver or bus will be not released.

Can someone do that. At least not for this decade.

another case for Police, another report for RTO, another topic to comment. but life of a small kid is gone, priceless loss for the parents. unfortunately the drivers remains unlistened. the cries of all such parents who lost their children due to such reckless driving, cries of kids who lost their parents in such accidents... all the recommendations and suggestions we give as responsible citizens here at Daiji... everything goes unheard by these evils so called reckless and creless drivers. Not sure whom to blams, police, RTO, authorities, roads or we the public who still accept such crimes and sit silent. Can not digest.

couple of weeks back there were continuous accidents near kodical junctions ( kottara chowki ) where kodical road joins NH. Many of these bast..rds come in wrong side and hit the vehicles coming from Kuloor towards city. Instead of taking service road and join NH, they take wrong side and come in front of you, again reckless and speed keeping their head light on... as if you need to run away letting them go.... just few weeks back multiple accidents and deaths... but still today morning I am seeing same vehicles or drivers come in wrong side only... this is called unacceptable fact. Pity on us and shame on authorities... one day you will reaslise when you own kid or some family member die due to these drivers, I refer them as social evils who came to kill innocents people...

Every day we see accidents, some are fatal. Innocent’s lives are lost. Some condole the death and the locals of accident spot pity. Everything is forgotten within couple of days except the family members. Lessons are not learned by the rash drivers and this will repeat and repeat again. Till very strict and fast solving rules and regulations are framed suitable for the present situation. Some cases Driving License is cancelled but the driver still driving without license and no action taken.

It is a known fact that when roads in India are wet vehicles tend to skid as a result of which the concerned driver loses control.This is a well known phenomena and therefore drivers and more particularly service bus drivers need to be extra careful. It is also a known fact that when roads are slippery a driver should not apply brakes but try and control the vehicle by manipulating gears.

I said in my earlier comments on road accidents that road accidents, murder and rapes are daily occurrences... now I can say that there are multiple accidents every day.

These can be avoided by by holding regular classes and refresher classes for public transport drivers. The R.T.O. perhaps will make a note of this observation.

My heart goes out to the child who died in the mishap, RIP. Controlling vehicle speed can prevent crashes happening and can reduce the impact when they do occur, lessening the severity of the of injuries.
