Bangalore: Woman techie allegedly raped near Electronic City

Bangalore, Jun 7 (DHNS): An unidentified man sneaked into a room in a paying guest (PG) accommodation and allegedly raped a girl who was asleep, in Electronics City police limits, in the early hours of Friday.

According to police, the 25-year-old girl who hails from Jharkhand had come down to the City a few months ago and was working in a major software firm.

Police added that the victim was asleep in a room in the first floor.

Her roommate usually leaves for work at around 3.30 am. On Friday, as usual she locked the door and left the key near the window adjacent to the door.

According to police, the accused, who is suspected to have come to the PG for theft, noticed the key being left near the window.

He opened the door using the key and entered the room, police said.

Victim woke up in shock

A senior police official said, “The victim woke up from sleep in a shock and resisted him, but he overpowered her and gagged her.”

The victim is being treated at the St John’s Hospital. Her parents back home have been informed about the incident.

A complaint has been lodged at the Electronics City police station. The police are trying to find out if there are any CCTVs in the vicinity,” the official said. The police said that around 40 girls stay in the PG accommodation. “We are yet to find out if there was a guard there,” the official said.

The police said that they are questioning habitual offenders in the area and are trying to gather more clues.

Idols stolen

The North Division police arrested two people and recovered two ‘panchaloha’ idols and ornaments worth Rs 2.5 lakh. The suspects are Srinivas, 25, and Prabhu Kumar, 23, both residents of Thindlu in Vidyaranyapura.

The police said the duo visited a house recently at Vidyaranyapura posing as salesmen.

They pretended to sell some goods, but the woman in the house refused to buy them.

They asked her to get some water to drink and when she went inside, they followed her, threatened her at knifepoint and took away the idols and other valuables.

Rapists and pedophiles should be given a bullet to the brain. It's all about power and a lack of a pe#!$ does not change that. It is quite severe and should not be tolerated the girl should be given power to punish the rapist because the pain and trauma she will go only she can understand.

Absolute lawlessness in the capital city! Home Minister & CM are failing to protect the citizens by pushing stringent law & order mechanisms in the state, the police force is demoralized & embroilded in needless controversise & take out processions & candle light marches when they are supposed to enforce law & order. The ATM attacker is yet to be captured, rapes & murders continue unabated. The Govt has failed in implementing central govt aided projects like CCTV at all junctions. instead they are focussing on 1 PM night life & giving permissions to dance bar & gambling dens to mushroom in the city. Last month 184 Bars were provided licence to operate. There is no checks or mechanism for Home stays & PG accomodations in Bangalore or elsewhere. Due to these factors, rape & murders continue & law & order is failing. High time the drunko HM is sacked for his failures

It is the men who can form a brigade to identify these nasty elements, and provide the authorities the clue or protect the women from them.

Can we expect such humanitarian service from our men? or should we expect you to base few more jokes on these incidents? Are we not perverts, whether we slip down our pant or not?

Let's make very sensible law for the rapists, hang them. no need any other punishments,as soon as police get the complaint of rape start search for the rapist and start necessary examination. As soon as the rape gets proved hang the rapist in the mid of the town, this is the only way to prevent this crime.now I get many disagree. And I feel the disagrees will be also from few who had done this crime, molestation and rape has become very common cause the criminals are let off with small punishment,BJP CONGRESS AAP please think about this instead fight in between.

Most of the police in Bangalore are busy clicking photos of women in restaurants under the guidance of respected HOME and CHIEF ministers.

It was known fact that none of the ministers in Siddu's cabinet obey CM's order.

But it is unfortunate to know that none of the POLICE CONSTABLE in Karnataka listen to Home Minister. He is a dummy man.
