90 percent of bus drivers are rash and arrogant. Unless govt start plying govt buses for mangalore and udupi this will continue now a days owner of bus take per days fees from driver and conductor and do what ever u want. Result these drivers to collect more money over take one another

RIP bros!! The way the accident has occurred due to the care-a-damn attitude of the bus driver which took away the precious lives of two innocent people is nothing less than cold blooded murder!!

Despite so many accidents killing and maiming innocent people day in and out in DK nothing is being done to curtail the menace of these pvt. "killer buses"!!

The only solution is public should press for govt. owned bus system on the lines of BEST in Mumbai!! Till such time, such horrendous accidents will continue unabated!! Nobody knows which traveler's turn will be next!!! Jai Hind!!

They will not do that because the bus operators give haftha (protection money) to Police dept and also to RTO. That way immediately after the accidents bus will be released or the blame will be on others and not the bus drivers etc.

If UP is famous for rape & killing innocents, Udupi-Managlore bus drivers are one of dangerous people in world who can kill anyone anytime anywhere in the road . No one raise voice on these bus drivers /Bus Mafia .
Having said this , everyone talk same. No official taking any Preventive measures or stringent action .

AM SCARED to travel in our highway . W e talk about development , but we are dying like dog in the roads for No reason….

I think in circumstances such as rash driving, drink and drive, jumping the red light etc., India should also have the concept of blood money that should go in lakhs or crores along with severe jail term.

Until such drivers pay the whole blood money, let them languish in jail. Probably then they would learn the importance of human life.

Whenever I come down to my native place for holidays I get scared to travel specially by public transport operated by private bus owners. I have traveled all over India. The worst drivers who do not follow any traffic rules are found in D.K and Udupi district. Hope Govt. will do something to save innocent lives

No helmet can protect death from such an accident , but only carefulness of both the drivers . Unless everybody tries to drive carefully by obeying traffic rules and maintaining safe speeds ,these accidents will continue and many will die . We must educate all drivers . But how to do it , is in the hands of our Government and our people .

Unless a severe penal action is in place to discipline these errant and speeding drivers, the fatalities to continue.

Both escaped from the scene and after a fortnight the driver is going to start driving again.But the two precious lives lost!

Accidents involving buses are now almost a daily occurrence. In this particular case it is said that the bus was trying to overtake another bus. ... and why should drivers recklessly try to pass other buses. The prime reason for this is to get to the next bus halt before the other bus in order to take passengers. This conduct of the drivers need to be controlled at all costs and they be stopped from playing with the lives of people. It is time that the The Authorities find a solution to this gnawing problem.

Another default on the side of bus drivers is parking the vehicles abreast. One can perceive this daily and several times a day on Balmatta Road at the corner of Milagris Lane. This kind of menace should by all means be stopped.

As Shri. Gadkari said, it is high time to change Motor Vehicles and licensing Act.
1. We lost Cabinet Minister also due to rash and negligent driving.
2. Drivers should be taught about human life they are human carriers, we entrust our lives in their hands.
3. Most of the Roads, specially highways, should be made TWO ways, coming and going should separated.
4. Roads design, maintenance should be right and prompt to avert accidents. Many curves and potholes are reason for many accidents, drivers alone can't be blamed.
5. Accidents have become major killer of present days.

Yes these private buses are seen overtaking in rash way. They don't care. I had to stop a city bus no>15 Ashel bus .while talking to the driver seems he doesn't care he says "Poya Policeg paan, Case pad e ichena polpuva thuka"

Even the traffic police also support these guys because they get Mamuli. The police traffic police came & says "Gadi thegi block aguthedey". He was least bothered ....Public only should catch hold of the drivers & smash them.
