Mangalore: Moral policing - Youth thrashed near Someshwar beach

Mohan Kuthar
Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, Jun 5: In what seems to be a case of moral policing, a youth was allegedly thrashed by activists of a local outfit near Someshwar beach here on Thursday June 5 for going out with a girl from another community.

The activists also smashed the youth's car.

The youth, said to be from Suratkal studying in an engineering college, was reportedly out on a drive with a girl from the same college.

It is said that the activists recognized the girl who is said to be a local residing near Konaje. Seeing that the girl was with a youth from another community, the activists reportedly grew angry and thrashed him.

The youth was later admitted to hospital.

Ullal police arrived at the spot.

Why people are against moral policing in such cases. These guys must be thrashed unless they are afraid of their parents and their god. No religion encourage anybody to go out with a girl who is not legal to him. Let him marry and go on international drives. No problem.

These rowdies should be called with that word "Moral" police.
They should be called as what they are "Rowdies" of a certain political party.
They cannot be taught moral in any manner as they do not meaning of that and they just can not understand the meaning when taught to them. They have been brain washed in such a way that when others do it is wrong but when they do it is correct. They do not even know the meaning of family, brother\sister, husband\wife they just catch and attack the above too and here many salute such vagabonds\rowdies.
Police are also lethargic as they have to do lot of paper work etc. and look the other way. If police \CID\COD were effective why for every incident they cry out for CBI inquiry!!!! It is as if the Police force exists only to collect hapthas!!
Just wake up and do your work right and collect whatever you want.

Whole world should be considered as one community.
I seen in ME and foreign schools where more than 50 countries different community students are studying and gel with each other as a single community, because they born or brought up in that atmosphere so they feel all are same. They share 'Navarathri Dhandiya' and many more native festivals as single community.
Specially in India fanatics and communal leaders dividing people for their own selfish benefit.
Only Education can solve this problem from rout-cause and it should be removed from grass root level.
Hope very soon it will happen.

In our life, problem may go from “Hayward’s 2000” to haywards 5000”,but we must take them as a “Royal Challenge “otherwise people will call us “Old Monk” and put a “Black Label” on our name. So we must learn from “Teachers” to fight like “Jack Daniel”, live like “Johny walker”, work till “8PM”& think like “Director special”. Then life will be “Imperial”& we will become “Aristocrat” & looks every where “Green label” Otherwise only white label (Just Thotte).
Moral Policing for what? If build up good activities? Then only there will be value for our “Signature”. ***

Even when I was studying there moral policing happened just cuz of some rumours where guys of some communities use girls and abandon them later in the name if some name !! See moral policing is gud but not to the context where you go thrashing even the genuine people around you. They could have interrogated the couples and directly called up their homes which would be very safe .. And about the governments hand behind this ?? Common you people blamed BJP then. just now I commented on one of the matter. Looks we are no more in a healthy society which was famous for peace and harmony. those days are gone. Now it's very risky to do anything in public. Not even roaming with your wife on beach because when these goons attack you you may not have evidence that she is your wife and end of the day you will also be thrashed like this. some time back I Was favouring this kind of restrictions , locally applied by these teams because it was expected to control our tradition and culture which was getting screwed with with the name of globalization or modernizations. But now it's like beyond control. I read a news where the truck with cows , even though it was legally getting transfered from one matta to another, carrying all documents... still a group thrashed the drivers and other companions. So, these are not right and such incidents will get a worng image for such teams. You can very well use this power to stop wrong things in society.... then society will also respect you.

These statistics shows that by force alone crimes can not be contained.
It is like dousing forest fire.
Many developed Countries have night life. But it is safe. Because OF ITS LAW ABIDING PEOPLE and their MIND SET.
Declining moral values is the reason for crimes.
Civil society turning into barbaric society. Future is unsafe.
