Kundapur, Jun 5: In a surprising occurrence reported from Hattikudru in Kundapur taluk, a calf has started giving milk. The udder of the calf is filled with milk and it gives more than half a liter of milk at a time. The calf has aroused the curiosity of the locals.

A Jersey cow belonging to Muthu Poojary, resident of Haranamane of Hattikudru had given birth to a female calf in the afternoon on May 12 and both the cow and the calf were in good health.

However the udder of the calf was found to be filled with milk a week ago and when the family members started milking it out of curiosity, they got more than half a liter of milk.

Veterinary doctor Ganesh Aithal came to the house and examined the calf. He has sent the milk to the laboratory and the report is expected soon.

The family members who have been into dairy business for the last fourteen years say that such an incident has not occurred so far. The milk giving calf has made news in Hattikudru.

Meanwhile, another of their cows that is neither pregnant nor has delivered has also started giving milk. The family members who saw its udder had presumed that it was going to deliver. However, the doctor who examined it said that the cow was not pregnant.

“We are dairying for the last fourteen years and saw an incident such as this for the first time. We also have a shop to sell milk. The development has made us surprised and anxious. We are waiting for the laboratory report to know the exact reason for it”, said Yashodha Harenamana.

India is land of milk and honey. Every living creature in India will start producing milk under the present Govt because they know how to milk with their good Governance and development agenda. Wait for sometime you will be high and dry without milk.

Guys, it is natural. Nor miracle. All calfs born in my home were having this feature. But they wont give in litres. Maximum 1 teaspoon.

By the way, it is natural in human being also.If you see old style of some expert lady one who comes as "Baananthi caretaker" used to do this to all girl infants, it seems it is one of the procedure.

BTW, forget 1/2 liter, there seems to be only a few s of milk seen scattered on the vessel (in the pic) (chembu)!!!! Jai Hind!!

So two miracles happened in that house. Kanji gives milk and another cow started giving milk without delivering baby (calf). Need to check what they were feeding the cows.

    Google..medical books
Witch's milk or neonatal milk is milk secreted from the breasts of some newborn infants of either sex.[1] Neonatal milk secretion is considered a normal physiological occurrence and no treatment or testing is necessary.[2] It is thought to be caused by a combination of the effects of maternal hormones before birth, prolactin and growth hormone passed through breast feeding and the postnatal pituitary and thyroid hormone surge in the infant.
