Mangalore, May 31: With the end of summer vacations, children across the city were seen bustling to schools here on Saturday May 31.

While for most, it was a day of reunion of sorts with friends and classmates, for others the experience of going to school itself was new.

Some of the tiny tots, reluctant to part with their parents, were seen teary-eyed, some even wailing their lungs out. The parents and teachers had quite a time coaxing the little ones and calming them down.

For the older kids, it was about sharing stories about their vacations and perhaps resolutions for new academic year too. Fun and laughter reverberated in the air as friends got together again.

The new academic year brings with it a feeling of freshness, where the mind is rejuvenated by the activities of the summer vacation. For those who shift schools, it is also a time to make new friends, get adjusted to new environment and begin a new journey altogether. New books, uniforms, stationary, water bottles...all these add to the charm of a new academic year.

Here's wishing all the school children a happy, successful and fulfilling academic year, especially to those preparing to answer the crucial SSLC board exams.

Thanks to Spoorthi Ullal for the beautiful coverage. I remember taking my children to junior school which was close to my house. Then they went to High School and college whereby I had to drive them . But Live was fun but tedious as life in New York is precious and hard. But God's blessing is there.
