Mangalore: Educational institutions should not preach Naxalism: ABVP

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (NM)

Mangalore, May 28: "The Naxal ideology is being justified in some of the educational institutions in the country. Those who engage in preaching such ideologies should be suspended from their work. Bloodshed is not the solution to any problem," said Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) national general secretary Srihari Borikar.

He was speaking at the civic reception programme organized as part of the national executive committee meeting of ABVP here on Wednesday, May 29.

"Some of the educational institutions including universities are openly propogating Naxal ideology. The ABVP will protest against those who engage in such justification. This is prevalent even in the reputed Jawaharlal Nehru University, where some professors have emerged as the supporters of Naxalism," he said.

"A change has now swept over the country. Earlier, when soldiers sacrificed their lives for the nation, no leader spoke for them. The borders were vulnerable and the security of our country was at stake. Corruption was at its peak. This time (in elections), the citizens of the country have given a fitting reply. In this fight, the ABVP too had joined hands," Borikar further said.

"Ever since Independence, with the dawn of democracy, the country has been a witness to a lot of changes. The pre-independence era was an era of struggle. Today, the country which is primarily agriculture oriented and calls farmers as its backbone has remained blind to the problems faced by farmers, thus driving them to several of them to suicide," he added.

"The youth should take the lead in bringing a full stop to corruption. India should emerge as leading nation on the world map. For this, the youth should come forward”, he said.

In his address, JBF Petroleum firm’s CEO A Gopalkrishna Pai said, "Moral values should be our principles of life. We should lead a cultured life. Without sidelining women, all of us have to work for the growth of our nation."

ABVP national president Prof Muruli Manohar presided over the programme. Anushka Kottari, Chathan L Padil, Ramachandra Shetty and Vinay Bidire were among other ABVP members present at the occasion.

Naxalism is not any dry THEORY to Teach or Preach in the Schools & Colleges.
Naxalism is automatically born deep within the hearts of the under privileged people and it bursts out after they undergo tremendous exploitation & Suppression.
ABVP being the group of upper caste rich & privileged people they will not understand such stark reality of life.

Can ABVP clear & clarify on the subject of terrorism in the name of communalism(which reflect increasingly evident in their actions). In fact I know personally..., in colleges these days ABVP members increasingly intolerant & target those who don't join them and subscribe their view.
Hence, i leave it to the readers wisdom to take the above call given by ABVP

One blind can not lead the other else both can fall into pit.
It is true that educational institutes should not preach Naxalism which is against our constitution.
But what about the teaching of Saffron brigade?
Is that all within the purview of our Constitution?
Some time one groups preaching becomes reason for other group's existence.
Two wrongs can not make one right.

First Educational Institutions should not allow formation of such groups.

We are unfortunately in an era where, there is no one to Protest or Fight against such groups who have only one agenda in their mind.

How about teaching Communalism in schools and colleges? ABVP would be glad to do that !! At the end, Naxalism aims at keeping every citizen together irrespective of differences. Where as your communalism divides my country.

When all the means of seeking justice, rights are lost and no govt officials or the representative are not giving the rights to the under privileged, then using the so called method of violence .which will reach out to the decision makers, then is it wrong.

Those who preach, not to venture into violence are they clean from this path of violence? Are they adopting Gandhiji's non violent method?

Practice before u preach, Ullu mat banavo. Now we are living in e transmission & internet era.
