Mysore, May 28 (DHNS) : While Narendra Modi was taking oath as the 15th Prime Minister of India at the forecourt of the Rashtrapathi Bhavan in New Delhi on Monday, two women gave birth to baby boys in faraway Mysore. But, what is of significance is that they have decided to name the newborns after the prime minister.
Uma, wife of Madhu Kumar, delivered her baby exactly at 6 pm at the government-run Cheluvamba Hospital. Uma has named her son Tanmay Modi. The couple, daily wage workers, is from Hosahalli at Belagola in Mandya district. Another proud mother is Shalini, wife of Krishna from Kerala residing in Mavinahalli, T Narasipura in Mysore district. Her baby has been named Narendra Krishna Modi. M K Shanti, the nurse at ward number six where Uma is admitted post-delivery, said: “We are proud to take care of Modi,” she said.
When DHNS spoke to Shalini, she was shy to share her feelings. But she nodded her head for an yes, when asked whether she knows about Modi.
