Mangalore, May 27: Soorya V K and Sumith from Mangalore have bagged the third ranks in CET medical and engineering, respectively. The CET results were announced by higher education minister R V Deshpande in Bangalore on Tuesday May 27. The exams were held on May 1 and 2.
The first rank in CET medical went to Girija Agarwal of MES College, Bangalore, who scored 93.88 percent, while the second rank was secured by H V Neha who scored 91.11 percent. Soorya V K, a student of Mangalore' Expert PU College, bagged the third rank.

In engineering stream, the first rank was secured by Srinidhi Prabhu of Bangalore's Narayana PU College who scored 95.15 percent, while the second rank went to Raunaq Bhirangi of Chetan PU College with a score of 95.83 percent. The third rank was bagged by Sumith of Sharada PU College, Mangalore.
The students of Expert PU College have secured ranks in medical, engineering, ISMH and architectural streams. Among the ranks secured by the students are the 3rd, 7th, and 8th in CET medical; 3rd, 5th and 9th in CET ISMH, 9th rank in CET engineering and 8th rank in CET architecture, said Narendra L Nayak, chairman of Expert P U College, addressing the media persons in the College premises here on Tuesday, May 27.
Out of top 50 ranks, Expert PU College has bagged 28 ranks which includes 3rd, 7th, 8th, 11th, 26th, 39th, 40th, 44th, 46th and 48th in CET Medical, 9th 13th, 30th and 47th in CET Engg, 3rd, 5th, 9th, 20th, 22nd, 25th, 28th, 29th, 31st, 45th and 47th in CET ISMH and 8th, 46th in CET architecture.
"We are proud of our students who have achieved ranks and their parents who have supported their effort and hardwork. The College has been doing well every year. Out of the 711 students who appeared for CET, 500 students answered CET medical and nearly 600 wrote CET engineering. The results this year are better than last year's," he added.
Usha Prabha N Nayak, secretary, Prof Ramachandra Bhat, principal, Pradeep Kumar M, HoD of biology and others were present on the occasion along with 3rd rank holder Soorya V K, 8th ranker Rakshith K S, 9th ranker Srinidhi Rao, 8th ranker Tanvi J Karia, 20th ranker Disha N, 22nd ranker Vishal S H and their parents.
