Mangalore, May 27: A youngster died in an accident near Handelu in Puttige, Moodibidri on Sunday May 26 evening.
The deceased, identified as Wilson Misquith (18), was a resident of Kaikamba.
It is said that on Sunday evening, he was out on a joy ride with his friends on his bike, when near Handelu circle, another bike moving at a high speed from Mangalore to Moodbidri hit his bike. However, another source said that Wilson was speeding and was also on the wrong side when he hit the other bike. He was not wearing helmet, eyewitnesses said.
The impact was such that two youngsters including Wilson got thrown off the bike and were seriously injured. They were rushed to a hospital in Mangalore where Wilson passed away later in the night.
Wilson had recently finished his PU studies from St Joseph's PU College, Bajpe and was pursuing a technical course.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday May 28 at 4 pm in Our Lady of Pompei Church, Gurpur Kaikamba.
A case has been registered.
