Bangalore: Free country from clutches of corrupt leaders, says Anna

Bangalore, May 26 (DHNS):
Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare on Sunday strengthened his struggle against the national scourge by launching “Asali Azadi Abhiyaan” (Actual Independence Movement) in the City on Sunday.

Flanked by Justice Santosh Hegde, Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math, waterman of India Rajendra Singh, H S Doreswamy, Salem Nanjundaiah Subba Rao, Akhil Gogoi from Assam and social activists from different parts of the country, Hazare vowed that his crusade would not stop till the benefits of independence reached the hinterlands and the development models were village-centric.

“After 90 years of struggle from 1857 to 1947, India gained freedom from the British rule. But the fruits of independence which should have benefited citizens, was still elusive. The fruits of independence were in the custody of a powerful few while the majority was still struggling to eke out a living. This was not the independence for which our forefathers sacrificed their lives,” said Hazare asking people to intensify their struggle against corruption if they wanted to ensure that the martyrdom of their forefathers did not go waste.

He called upon the youths to do their bit in freeing the country from the clutches of corrupt politicians. He said urban-centric development had crowded cities while made villages bankrupt. This, he said, had led to the migration of people from villages to cities and towns, where the poor were exploited.

“Because of the faulty economic development, 80 per cent villages in India continued to starve. There were no efforts to recharge the groundwater which can change agriculture production,” Hazare said.

He called upon the youth to focus on character-building, leading an unblemished life, sacrifice and develop the ability to tolerate insults, if they wished to change the country.

Later, addressing reporters, Hazare said the Lokpal Act has many shortcomings as it was in sharp contrast to the draft Jan Lokpal Bill they had prepared. The government came out with an explanation that those points which are not included in the draft bill would be presented in separate bills. This way, the purpose of the Lokpal was diluted, he added.

    Hi,
History always repeats.I have read both Ramayana and Mahabharatha .I have travelled to so many countries in the world. It is not just a matter of corruption. But also,of social justice. In Ramayana, lord Ram has done social injustice,by killing Bali and demanding test by fire for Sita.
In Mahabharatha you can see almost all good deeds and bad deeds.
I have never seen a country which is totally written of social injustice and corruption.
It is impossible to completely remove corruption and social injustice.
What makes all the difference whether you can put your country and people close to you before yourself and that is possible.
Mahatma Gandhi could not ensure corruption-free India.

    Anna wants to become Gandhiji,
Sonia wanted to become Mother Teresa. Mouna Mohana wanted to win the Nobel prize.
Nobody wants to bring Jan lokpal bill. Only talk-talk-talk & try to fool people.
Just look at V.K.Singh and Kiran Bedi. They were looking for a platform and they found it.
    Yeddy, Paswan are other examples.
    All are opportunist.

Annere, I think now the common man gets chance only after 5 years! Meanwhile, I think to be ourselves freed from clutches of corruption we have to think of ways to remove corruptions at lower levels (sarakaari baabus with whom common man has to deal on every day basis). Trying to eradicate the corruption at top level is like putting hand into the middle of the hot ganji on a plate. First we have to clear the hot ganji on the sides and then come to the centre. Approach should be the same in corruption also. First common man should be relieved from the corruption effects.

Anna has remained apolitical but his core group members gone political seeking affiliations with AAP n BJP. Arvind is an extremist of the kind who believes in anarchy. Modi is another extremist who believes in secrecy. Arvind keeps all his financial sources n donations, his policies out in public domaain but modi keeps all in secret. Arvind opts talking to people in one to one way but modi is far away from people cocooned in 100 commandos in close circuit, 1000 police providin outside security. Entire security machinery is working day in and day out to protect one citizen oof India but arvind doesnt represent showy spectacle. Modi is now started spending public money lavishly for his swearing in.... he will spend public money in unprecedented way for media hype around him. Modi being a public servant has kept all public related decisions in closed doors and press is kept away. This is hallmark of North Korean style of politics. Now that all pseudos are shunted, will modi be able to deliver on crucial issues like 2g,coalgate,adarsh,mumbai attackers etc. and punish aall corrupt? Modi publicly attacked UPA usinng CAG reports. Now he doesnt want to believe in CAG reports... he dooesnt want Lokayukthas... He want absolute power.... Sabka saath apna vikas ?

The world suffers a lot not because of the violence of bad people but because of the silence of good people said Martin Luther King Jr. I wonder what solution or weapon these two wonderful persons have for India's corrupt political system. It is not enough just to pointing out the problem most important is to suggest a solution. If it is political problem then the solution also has to be political. Ultimately in parliament the solution has to be found but again same corrupt politicians are sent again the results could not be expected different. These two stalwarts must support or join honest struggles of the aam admis in whatever way they are carried out.

Anna Hazare is really Mahatma Gandhiji of modern times. His latest mission "Asli Azadi Abhuyan" is some how not convincing. It will be a new dawn today 26th May for independent India with great patriot /leader Sri Narendra Modi going to become new PM of the great nation.Life and living of this true son of India itself accomplishment of Asli Azadi mooted by Anna.
All know that Anna is a man of simplicity, knowledge but he is too innocent and therefore all the sucess of his movements is being encashed/hijacked by people like Kejriwal,Santhosh Hegde,Bhushan,Kumar Vishwas,Sisodia and to some extent Kiran Bedi too. Many of his partners in 'India against corruption' movement have played dubious rolesbeing undisclosed agents of the govt and making his effrot futile which he didnt know till late.He understood the reality only when his health deteriorated and partners health improved substantially.
I sincerely hope that Anna has learnt lesson from his earlier movements and draw up plans to decide who will be his new partners in the newly mooted AAA.He must be careful about known 'hitha shatrus' within who are running business empires or part of it and be extremely careful in alligning with them.

I was a firm believer in Anna and his work.He had a good team which was committed to route out corruption. But the team members themselves became greedy for power. arvins Kejriwal and his team spoiled the gains they made. VK Singh and Kiran Bedi were there with Anna to to grind their axes against the past government. When they got political opportunity they left the Anna Ideology and aligned with the parties against who they were protesting. Anna once again has become a loner and has to start from scratch. Th only gainer of his movement was BJP which hobnobbed and took all the benefits.I do not think there will be any change in the corrupt politicians or political system either Congress or BJP. Because people who were with congress have switched to BJP. Anna changed his stand day by day and others used it for their advantage. Anna has to reinvent himself now to fight the corrupt system

I really do not know what Anna trying to say...Intensify struggle against corruption. All the government offices still taking bribe for small works to be done. All the citizens ready to pay bribe too. Then why all these hype for? Anna thinks corruption is done only by politicians, while the major corruption is happening in our local society which can not stop.
