'Heropanti' collects Rs.6.63 crore on opening day


New Delhi, May 24 (IANS): Tiger Shroff's much anticipated and highly publicised Bollywood debut "Heropanti", managed to mint Rs.6.63 crore on its opening day in the country. Trade analysts are hopeful the movie will have a promising weekend.

The film released Friday alongside mammoth star Rajinikanth-starrer "Kochadaiiyaan", which also features Tiger's father and actor Jackie Shroff.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share box office updates on "Heropanti", directed by Sabbir Khan.

"'Heropanti' has a rocking start. Friday - Rs.6.58 crore net. India business," Adarsh tweeted, and later posted: "'Heropanti' revised figure - Friday Rs.6.63 crore net. India business very good."

Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines told IANS: "It looks like 'Heropanti will have a good weekend."

Giving his verdict on the entertainer, Komal Nahta, another trade expert, tweeted: "Tiger Shroff's debut film 'Heropanti', is a SUREFIRE HIT."

The movie had a positive buzz ever since it was announced that Tiger, son of Bollywood's once reigning star Jackie Shroff, will make his debut with the film, which also stars another newcomer, Kriti Sanon. Add to that, Tiger's daredevilry and flexibility in carrying out action scenes. The team also went city to city promoting the movie, presented by UTV Motion Pictures and Nadiadwala Grandsons Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.

Several B-Town celebrities, including Shilpa Shetty and Sophie Choudry, have lauded Tiger's effort and performance.

"Absolutely thrilled to know that Tiger Shroff's 'Heropanti' is rocking. Wishing him super success. He is my hero, Jaggu Da's son," tweeted actor Riteish Deshmukh.
