Bantwal, May 23: Jubilant BJP supporters, party leaders and workers descended on the streets in large numbers here on Friday May 23 in celebration of their candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel's victory in the recent Lok Sabha elections.
The procession that started at BC Road Kaikamba Polali entrance passed through BC Road market, Bantwal, Jakribettu and other places and concluded at Bantwal bypass junction.
A beaming MP Nalin Kumar Kateel waved at the crowds as he went along the procession route in an open jeep.
Newly-elected MP of Udupi-Chikmagalur Shobha Karandlaje also joined in later.
Speaking after the culmination of the procession, Nalin Kumar thanked the voters for blessing him for the second time and also lauded the hard work and efforts put in by party workers in bringing him to power again. He attributed his victory to his own development works and the prevalence Modi wave in the district.
District BJP president Pratap Simha Nayak, Bantwal constituency BJP president Ananda G, BJP leaders Rukmayya Poojary, Rajesh Naik Ulippadiguttu, Devadas Shetty, Thungappa Bangera, Devadas Shetty, Dinesh Bhandary and others were present.
Participants came in several different colorful costumes along with fire works.
