Kasargod, May 22: A girl who was reportedly abducted by a group in broad daylight from her residence at Alampady last week was rescued from Badiadka on Wednesday, May 21. The police team led by DySP T P Ranjith arrested six persons in connection to the incident.

The arrested are identified Povval resident Saleem (29), the girl's ex-lover Hakim (27), a resident of Alampady, Ashraf (23), a resident of Anangoor, Farooq (28) from Nalamail, Hussain alias Sudu (33) from Anangoor and Musoorilah (21) from Alampady. Police said that Sudu is also an accused in the murder attempt on Jyotish that occurred a few months ago.

The girl, a resident of Alampady, was taken away by force from her house when her family members had gone to the mosque for Friday prayers.

It is said that there the girl and Hakim were in love for some time. However, the girl later ended the relationship and her marriage was fixed with somebody else. Angered by this, Hakim planned to abduct her, said the police. The girl was initially taken to Hakim's relative's house at Kottodi.

Fearing raid by the police, she was then taken to another relative's house at Badiadka. The police who received this information, traced the girl at Badiadka on Wednesday night and Hakim was arrested.

The other five accused were arrested later based on the information given by Hakim.

Police sub-inspector E V Ravindran, Rajashekaran, Pradeep Chavara, Sinos Siriak, Shaju Manjeshwar and Sunil Abraham participated in the operation.

The story says it is an abduction.

But I assume, the girl herself might have arranged this abduction drama, as her alliance fixed by her parents are not acceptable to her.

The lover might have taken the help his rotten friends to get their Nikah solemnized in the presence of a Kazi in some mosques.

Looks like the intention of the boy could be genuine but the way he has adopted is heinous.

The parents finally lodged a complaint of abduction to punish all men.

This is my thoughts and perception, could be our other readers may have a contrary view.

ultimately what matters is the punishment to be d. if these are really sentenced for life time or death , then it makes sense that others will think twice before planning for such crimes. if the punishment is escaped because of some politicians or local powerful folks, then nothing will change. these culprits will target new girls and this will continue. these 6 people end up building 6 such teams in future if left unpunished. they dont have any moral eligibility to be in the society. so please eliminate them.

Movies are the prime reason for these youths involvement in such cases. The so called Bollywood and TV serials are eroding the values taught by pious parents and grand parents. May better sense prevail in the society.

The cases of abduction are on the increase. Hope the culprits if found guilty are severely punished and made an example that law does not leave out any one.

Karnataka-Kerala border areas very dangerous and most of the people from this area are engaged with different types of crimes like smuggling, blackmailing, kidnap, murder etc. Police have to take extra care about these areas to reduce the crimes.
